and is there any common problem with the PS3 (Example:360 ROD)

Nope, no problems here. 14+ months and going strong.

I've had my PS3 for a year, no problems.

I've had a 360 for 2 years, and i'm on my 3rd. I've had enough of it so i gave it to my dad.

ps3 is the best im a former 360 owner and traded it in due to freezing and constant hic ups... im much happier now :-)SirOWNZalot86

unfortunatly mine did but dont wory its like one in a million if only that would happen on something good eh? lol.. my poor 60 gig pimpstation n all my data... oh well i was ignorant ALWAYS ran folding@home when i wasent using it and it happend just a few days after firmware 2.40 came out so i thought that was what killed it but apprently and extremely ironically it wasent the case must have been the dust from running F@H for so bloody much....... shortly after my arm was broken in car accident that nearly took my life and in game xmb made me sooooooo happy and THE DAY i was going to get sopranos on bluray but dont worry man ps3 is an amazing console just in my life if it wasent for bad i would have no luck!:P n btw cool scorpion stuff cheers man i guarantee you will enjoy ps3 more than any other console until ps4 of course in a very long time!Meko_Gear_Solid

Mines is dead as well. I will hopefully send it in and get it fix. I'm going to probably have to reinstall final fantasy x11. Anyone have any clue on how much sony will tax me to fix it. My thread "life without ps1,ps2,ps3" tells my story

my 60gb's hard drive overheated a little over a year after I got it. My other friend got a 60gb couple days b4 mine and his died a couple weeks after mine did. We both sent them to Sony and they replaced them. But my other friend has a 20gb he got at launch and his is running fine. Luck of the draw I guess.
