I kind of hate the PS4 controller. Hurts my hands, and honestly it is one of the worst controllers I have ever held. I even surprisingly prefer the PS3 controller more. I think my hands are too big.

Whatever the case, how long to you think it will take for them to roll out 3rd-party controllers?

Is it unlikely that there will ever be an option to use a PS3 controller either wired or with some sort of bluetooth plug-in someday, do you think?

Probably the least likely would be slightly different sizes of PS4 controllers for monster hand people like me, but hey, there were different sized controllers in the PS1 era, so who knows?

Oh, and I realize the PS3 controller is smaller, but for some reason, with me, I can prop the PS3 controller in my hand where it fits loosely and comfortably, but the contour of the PS4 controller forces you to hold it a certain way where it ends up hurting me. I have relatives with smaller hands where it works wonderful. I envy them in those moments lol.

Have no idea how legit this is, but you should take a gander. We should see some 3rd party options by years end. If not, they're leaving money on the table.

my hands are on the larger side as well (not humongous but large), i had a hard time using regular ps2 controllers and used 3rd party (logitech) controllers, since those were a bit larger than sony ones and had no problems, unfortunately logitech did not provide wireless ps3 controllers so i had to get used to sony ones... i am quite happy with the ps4 controllers, i do agree that it needs a bit getting used to, however i find them to be much more comfortable compared to ps3 ones (which i used with fps freaks for, well, fps titles, so it took me an extra long time to get used to)... :)

i can only advise you to try to get used to it, unfortunately it seems to be your only option until a decent 3rd party controller is released for ps4... :(

I find the DS4 controller a million times better than the DS3 one, i tried going back to it, the other week and i just felt the controller so cheap in design compared to the DS4, but i'm not saying the D4 is great, I'm still a fan of the Xbox 360 controller to be fair, i still have hardly any true control over the analog stick due to having to stretch my thumb over. I also having a problem of hitting the home button mid game, because my finger sleeps off.

PS4 controller is the best Controller I have ever held. I wasnt a big fan of the DUalshock 3 and was a huge fan of the Xbox 360's but the Dualshock 4 is just perfect for me. It fits perfectly and the Sticks arent soo loose like the crappy Ps3 controller. 3rd party controllers never end well for me.

I'll go as far as to say the DS4 controller beats the 360 imo, feels amazing.

@Namgis: I've heard of that actually and was really considering buying it. If my PS4 library starts beefing up more I may actually try that out.

I prefer DS4 over DS3 by quite a margin, but I still think the XB1 controller is better than DS4.

I have 2 issues with the DS4 controller so far... and those would be,

1) That touch pad is nothing more than a nuisance to deal with. If you so much as touch the damn thing ever so slightly on games like Thief it will open the frikkin inventory screen time and time again. Or a game like Trine 2 where it acts a cursor for the wizard spells, just touching it will send the cursor flying to the corner of the screen. It can't really be helped either because it's so damn big and it's so close the analog sticks and dpad. Not to mention, I haven't seen a single game that uses it well. The touch screen is a gimmick and a design flaw.

2) The rubber on the analog sticks is cheap shit that will inevitably break apart with general use of the controller.

i used to complain about the size of the ps3 controller. it felt too small, and caused my hands to cramp. the ps4 feels a lot better, but now I really miss the smoothness of the analog sticks that the ps3 had. they moved like butter, and really felt good to use in FPS'.

@comchild: I recommend giving these a try. I have been using them on my DS3 for quite some time and they've been brilliant. I got the cqc model, they add a couple mm to the height of the sticks and loosen them up. I've taken them off and tried the regular DS3 sticks, I'll never go back. The ones I have are also concaved, so the thumbs stay in place. Are the sticks on the DS4 stiff?

@Namgis, I wouldn't say the DS4 sticks are stiff, but they have a noticeable amount of resistance compared to the DS3. They aren't bad, by any means, and I think it would come down to a preference thing. Thanks for the link; I'll check it out.

I love the DS line, and the DS4 is the best so far. I just beat RE Revelations on PS3 infernal mode, 1st try S rank whereas I was stuck on the Wii U with Pro Controller dying about 20+ times until I had the confidence to try again after beating it on the PS3. The Dual Shock line can't be beat by any other console controller, it's the best. Xboner and Wii U controllers are stiff and wonky in comparison.

I actually feel the opposite with the fact that my hands are bigger than most. The ps4 controller actually fits nicely in my hands.
