In any game? I did. I bought the Dark Yellow Black Ops costume in Resistance 2. I feel kind of embarassed, but dark yellow is my favorite color, so screw it. Plus it costs only a buck.Algren_JEAHBut again, that buck could've given you a full game for a buck less ;)
I really wanted (was tempted) to buy Chun-li's alt costume in SF4....but I overcame the temptation lolverbalfilth
Speak for yourself. Im still tempted to buy the femme fatale pack, I mean seriously :o
Nope, I've never bought anything like that. It just seems kind if silly to spend money on virtual stuff, to me anyway. I have downloaded some clothes and stuff that I won playing games, but never actually bought anything. I would like to have more options, but I just can't see spending money on something, even if it is just a dollar, that I will barely see. Just like the furniture in Home, I think that the house looks really boring and stuff, but since I started playing Home, I've only gone back to my place one or two times, so it would have been a total waste of money.

My reasoning is that if I spend a buck on a hamburger I'll eat and never see it again (at least not in a good way), and I use to eat out a few times but I just stick to cereal and Oatmeal and only use my extra cash for videogames and gas, hardly ever on anything that would perish real quick. Virtual stuff holds more value to me because it doesn't depreciate in quality.

Yeah, I can see that and it is a good point. For me, I just don't think it is worth it. I mean, there are things available to download that I like, but I've never even considered putting actual money towards it, since it is isn't something I would see all that much anyway. I also consider that if I bought several things that I wanted for my character, eventually it wouldn't take too long to spend enough to buy a game (not a good one, but still a game) and I will have a lot more fun with a game than with virtual items for my character.
Honestly, I think I would be a little more likely to buy things like this from Xbox Live than the Playstation Network. Only reason, I would get to see it more. I don't play my Playstation too often and I definitely don't go into home too often, so I would see the items I purchased very rarely. On the other hand, my avatar is seen all the time on the 360, so at least I could get a little more enjoyment out of it.
I'd love to see more games offer items by getting trophies and other goals in a game, for example you get a shirt of that game by reaching a platinum trophy, or something along those lines. Or, even downloadble content just for buying the game, for example, after you play the game the first time you can log onto the Playstation Network and get a shirt or other items that are related to the game.
Hell yeah i buy that stuff! Hmmm lemme think... Got stuff for my sack people, Deadspace guy, my Hotshot golfers, stuff for HOME, and other games. I cant remember them all. But yeah, I buy that sort of thing. I love custom!
No I haven't and I'm likely not to it's rarely I buy anything from the Playstation Store the only DLC I've bought is for Saints Row 2.
Yeah the cloven solider for resistance 2 and also kratos for littlebigplanet :)lucarocks1FINALLY someone else who bought a costume for R2. I was starting to feel bad.

I like your idea about either earning it for getting platinum (or something along those lines) or for buying it. Somebody wrote a blog a little while back that was on the user soapbox on the home page and the guy was talking about buying used games vs. new. He said a way that developers should give incentive to buy new instead of the cheaper used game is to include a unique code in each game to give you free downloadable stuff. If you still wanted to buy it used then you could, but you'd have to pay for the downloadable stuff instead of getting it for free. Again I did not write any of this but I read it. I think that could be a solution to get extra costumes for free.
