Once.  It fell from a window ledge to the floor while recharging when my feet accidentally snagged and pulled its power chord.  Luckily, my psp was in a Logitech case.  There were no noticable damage...both physical and functionally.

I almost dropped mine while the power cord was plugged in. Rolled my chair back saw it coming down, reached out and caught it before it hit the floor. Stupid power cord. So from then on, I have placed the cord behind the table instead of in front.

Cheers :)

No damage to the PSP, mostly because of the case. Only my heart stopped functioning for a second...

I dropped it on my unstringed guitar, and it hit the only sharp part on the guitar. All I got was a scratch on the screen cover.

  • A few weeks ago I dropped it on it's side and one of the battery cover "chips" broke off and I had to buy a new one because I didnt like how it stuck out.
  • About a year ago I dropped it on it's side (in that sorry Sony soft case) didnt protect the right side; Dented the faceplate (had to get it replaced) and if I want to lock my PSP the switch will not go down all the way like it used to.

I dropped mine on the sidewalk when it was putting it in my backpack. lucky for me I didn't fall on the screen side. The back of the case has some slight gashes in it. The PSP works fine though with no problems.

i dropped mine enough to know that the power turns off completely.  but no more than 6 times did i drop it.. the worst was a couple of weeks ago when i was in school and some stupid girl asked me if i could move up.. I was pissed because i sat there the whole year and now she act like she sit in that section.. but anyways, i got up angrily, forgetting that my psp was on my bag.. i picked up my bag. BANG!! my psp falls, battery out, analog stick out, battery door is somewhere else.. it fell on the screen but a hard plastic face protector was on.  i'm paranoid now.. it kinda feels like the umd door is slightly loose when i squeeze it and other stuff like that.. i feel my brother's psp and it feels tight.

I had a really close call this week. My psp almost went to psp heaven.

I accidentally left my psp (with a logitech case) on top of my car while rushing to work the other day. Drove off while my psp still on the roof. Several minutes in, I realized that my psp missing. Oh shoot! My psp must be on the roof! By this time, I'm already on a main road...travelling at 60km/h. I turned intoa nearbyplaza parking lot and heard a loud crackling sound. My heart dropped. I knew it was my psp. Once I stopped and got out of the car, my psp is lying face down a couple of feet back...off its protective case. I didn't see the actual fall, but it must've been really hard. The impact had actually caused the logitech case to open up and the memory stick to pop off its psp slot. Luckily, there was no major damage done to my psp that I could tell. It escaped with only minor gashes on the corners and tiny chips on the shoulder buttons. If the case hadn't open, it would've gotten away scratched free. In any case, I got really lucky. It could've been a lot worst...

My friends psp(which I had borrowed) fell off a very wobbly table (after my dog bumped into it) and landed perfectly on the corner of my guitar amp....the result...a giant "spider-web" crack on the lcd screen. Of course I payed for the damages to his psp but needless to say, he doesnt let me borrow his things anymore:P

Wow u people are lucky! The one time i dropped it it broke DX I was going to my friends house and i was bringin my ddr pad and had my bag of clothes and stuff together and my psp in my hand underneath it. And i put the ddr pad in there and my backpack and the PSP fell on my driveway and the screen cracked and the sound jack broke so now i have no sound even with and without head phones. So i only use it for aim but the crack is kinda annoyin to see past. And it was in my little black psp slip case to so that may be y it had such a hard fall
