Since I (sadly) don't have an HDTV yet, no. It would be kind of pointless.

My parents are the ones with the HDTV, and they haven't either. They're waiting for them to come out with a Blu-ray changer before they buy one. :P

I will once my family adopts Blu-ray as a whole since we all use the same movie in the house.so if my bro next door to me or sis want to borrow one of my movies to watch then they can watch it so ya it would be reckless and pointless to do so especially not knowing what the future holds eventully Blu-ray and HD-DVD will die just like Bill Gates predictied but for now i will wait and try to convince them to buy a blu-ray player once prices go down.

I haven't bought a DVD in years and no BD yet either, but if I was gonna buy a something, it would probably be a BD by now (Advent Children will most likely be my first BD)

Yes, I have. The picture quality is great and the sound is very clean. It would be hard for to go back to DVD.

I personally have swtiched, I will only buy Blu-ray movies. I still watch DVDs though for two reasons. One, because Blockbuster only has DVDs at the moment and two because I have a bunch of DVDs. I easily notice a drop in picture quality when watching a DVD so I try to avoid it.

i probably won't be able to switch over completely until criterion starts releasing on blu-ray (which may take a while). my dvd buying habits have definitely slowed, but i still buy the rare box set or foreign release, stuff that probably won't make it on to blu-ray for quite a while, if ever.

I've just recently (and I mean like 2 days ago) switched from Dvd to Blu-ray. I've had the PS3 since the end of December, but just picked up an HDTV this week. I've got a couple of Blu-rays so far, but if I may make a suggestion: consider picking up "Planet Earth". I never thought I'd be sitting at the edge of my seat for a nature documentary, but I did last night.

Nope, not yet, I don't have a HDTV yet. Plus even if I did I wouldn't buy any blu-ray movies yet since I refuse to pay like $25 when I could get a regular DVD for $15 and just have it upscaled when I get my HDTV.

I will purchase blu-ray when the price goes down.

I have a handful of BR discs, but honestly, DVD has a much better selection, and you can't even rent the handful of BR titles at Blockbuster (yet.) Making matters worse, they are overpriced to buy, so I only buy a couple every now and then. Planet Earth is really rad, though. Every PS3 owner with an HDTV should own that excellent documentary.

Planet Earth is amazing, I will be picking it up on bluray soon after seeing some of my dads DVD version...I can only imagine how sick it looks in HD.

slowly. My t.v. only supports up to 720p which is kind of a bummer. The other thing is a lot of movies I have yet to get on dvd that I want, are not available on blu ray (such as Heat and Oceans 11).

Netflix, 3 at a time for the last few months... I watch probably2-3 a week. Sadly, Iam near the end of movies that I want to see on blu-ray (I'd guestimate that I've seen about 50). Iown POTC 1 & 2, Casino Royale, Blood Diamond, Into the Blue, Black Hawk Down, The Fifth Element (in the mail actually to receive the new one in July), andApocalypto is on it's way.

I still watch DVD's,and buy them if they are around $5. And of course I rent some DVD's that are not available on blu-ray yet.

Sort of but I never really bought DVDs and I'm probably not gonna really buy Blu-rays because I don't like movies lol. And I have no idea why I don't like movies, they're just boring, but I love TV.

In Australia there are only a limited amount of movies available on BD, and too be honest most of them are crappy movies.  Give me a price drop and some decent titles and I'll consider it.  Having said that even DVD movies are over $30 here, that is just way too much money for 2 hours of entertainment (I have seen BDs costing over $55).

Not yet - and not for a while. The selection of Blu Ray films in the UK is pretty weak - films like stealth, come on! Even if i did wanna buy a bad old film, i'd pick it up from Play for £3 instead of a £20-25 Blu ray.

But saying that, i'm waiting for Planet Earth's PAL release, should look amazing!

What the hell is blue ray?  Anyway Blu-ray players are backwards compatible with DVD.
