Having problems with PS3. Any help or information?

Recently I got pretty strange system error. I turned my PS3 on and then I was notified that my PS3 didn't shut down properly the last time (this not being true, I shutted it down just normally) and that my hard drive might be corrupted. I was told to restart the system and it did a disk check by itself to make sure it wasn't corrupted. Thankfully everything was ok, but it scared me.

My PS3 is a 120 GB Slim, almost two years old by now. It had never happened to me before. As an additional fact, my PS3 tends to crash when playing Bad Company I, The Saboteur and Assassin's Creed games (Brotherhood and AC II) but ONLY those games. I also play Red Dead Redemption and Call of Duty Black Ops and it has never crashed on me with those games. When the games crash I have to restart the PS3. It mostly happens when I'm playing online.

Can anyone help me or give me some information?

It happened to me a couple weeks ago and everything seems to be working fine now.

I guess if you're worried, you can back up whatever save files you can just to be safe.

It is a part of a new update if your ps3 screws up when turning off (it happens randomly) they now have a system to recover your data. Personally i got the message when a game froze. so it dosent do anything dont worry dude
