hi to get your cable to be hd do u have to call your cable service???and what is analog tv???

you have to get an HD receiver from your cable provider. your cable already has HD, you just need something to accept it. If you TV has a built-in HD Tuner, then you don't need a separate HD receiver.

yes. it's only a couple of dollars more a month than a regular receiver.

This has nothing to do with PS3 but most cable companies broadcast HD with basic programming. Here in Ny it cost the same. Sometimes you just need a new converter box but why not call and find out? Why would you ask this in the Playstation forum?
