u didnt really read ur own article did u?
3x dvd is only a triple layered dvd..... this doesnt benefit hd dvd in any way

although 3x dvds can only be played in hd dvd players... all that means is that people will buy hd dvd players and not hd dvd... just the 3x dvds

This is HD-DVD grasping at straws. I find it funny that if this technology has been around for a while why didn't they just release it before this whole format war started.

The best Blu-Ray and HD-DVD's have about 60-70k sales in their first week.  The WORST new release of regular old DVDs sells in the millions (usually 2 mil+) from everything I've heard.  Neither Blu-Ray nor HD-DVD have taken the world by storm at this point.

Before this gets locked.

3X DVD means nothing to the next gen formats. It's just more space for storage, it does not mean they put HD content on the disc. DVD does not have enough bandwidth to transfer HD data. The compression algorithm used will limit the quality of the video and sound.

This is good news if you want to back up files from your computer maybe even help the 360's storage problems out, but means nothing to HD movies and certainly not to the PS3 or Blu-ray.
