Okay, but I don't mean revolutions.at any rate, i don't see the HDD speed affect the ps3 in any way other than how quickly stuff gets loaded off ofthe hdd and how quickly data is transfered over.
Basically, it probably doesn't matter, lol
Rakuho
here's a link i found with them talking about gigs per second. basically i came up with the right conclusion that it helps load stuff faster, so yes 3 gigs/ sec is better than 1.5.

i don't know the size that the drive has to be for a ps3, but that site made some comaprisons with what you were woundering about somewhere in the middle of the text, so use it as info not necessarily for the hhd they were promoting RakuhoThanks man, your right apparently the GB/s makes a big difference for the HDD ATA.
All SATA II drives have a 3g/s throughput and they're the only ones supported by the PS3. You can only put notebook (2.5") drives in it.LightReflectionYeah, but you can still have 1.5g/s running on PS3, or any amount, as long as it's SATA
Yeah, you probably can, but it'd be pretty stupid to do that, considering it comes with an SATA II drive and the original SATA drives are all but phased out.LightReflectionAre they really !? I had no idea. So SATA II is In the PS3?
