after 3 years my 60 gig is almost full, i plan on replacing it wth atleast a 250 gig hdd but i dont have another external drive and i plan on using the current 60 gig as an external drive. So can i just take out my 60 gig, put it in an external casing, put in the new drive and and move everything over? or do i NEED another hdd??

You need another HDD, it's not plausible to do that...

You can get a terabyte HDD on newegg for under $100 X)

You would need an external hard drive to transfer everything from your 60GB to your 250GB hard drive when you insert that into your PS3.
