If your component inputs support 720p as well, which it should,it would not really matter. Unless you want your audio and video signal to be carried on one cord, opposed to splitting up the video signal and carrying the sound on another cord. But that is up to you :)jester0815
HDMI cables aren't as expensive as people make them out to be, but indeed it really just is preference in your case.
ok thanks. im going to get the official sony component cables since theyre only 25 dollars. 80 dollars is too much for me.caz415
You could actually get the official component cables from BestBuy for $20 (just in case you wanna save an additional $5 :D) Thats what I did....
One has to wonder why they 24k HDMI cables...
But since that was long enough, that was the one I chose for my TV/PS3.
I got my PS3 last January and foolishly paid $110 for my HDMI cables. My fiance actually went and grabbed them off the rack while I was talking to the sales guy (I was getting my TV that same day). I got owned.
Anyways, HDMI is the way to go if you can do it. You can't get 1080p for blu-ray movies over anything but HDMI so if you intend to use it as a BR player you need HDMI.
