Hi i have just bought myself a PS3 and i have connected it to my Samsung HDTV with a HDMI cable. All was goin well until it seemed to just cut out and my tv was left blank and there was no sound but then it came back after about 10 seconds, i carried on playing and this kept on hapening at regular intervals. i have tried it on all my games and it keeps doing the same thing. has anyone got any ideas how i could solve this problem

thanks

It should depend on what your tv's resolution is. You should set your ps3 to output to 720p. Just go to settings then display settings. that should do something to help.

Try using a different HDMI cable, but you're best off ringing Samsung up, and then Sony.

This is quite common in with some televisions. Apparently, what happens is that the TV is sending the signal for the "handshake" and the PS3 won't respond, so it retries at said regular intervals. The only solution for this problem is to unplug the HDMI cable from the PS3 while it is running a game and then plug it back in. Eventually it will successfully initiate the "handshake"

It's not a smart idea to unplug cables while they are running. You could break either the TV or the PS3. It rarely happens, but sometimes a spark (static) can go to either system and blow it out or break the connector. It warns in the PS3 manual not to be plugging cables in while the PS3 is on.
