I just bought a Sony Bravia kdl40-w2000 and a hdmi cable. I've connected my ps3 to the tv using the cable but i don't have any picture anywhere. Should i connect both the hdmi and the scart cable to get picture or something?

turn off your PS3 and then turn it back on by HOLDING your finger on the on/off sensor ON THE CONSOLE and wait until it beeps 3 times, it should then auto detect

if not then connect the regular cables to the PS3 and the tv and connect the HDMI to the tv but not the PS3 yet

then change the display option on the PS3 to HDMI, as soon as you do that disconnect the reg cables from PS3 and plug HDMI into the PS3 then change input on tv to HDMI and it should show up

first of the 2 options should work though and its easier

I have a Bravia and there is a menu that you need to select the HDMI input (if it has multiple HDMI inputs then you need to select the one your using for the PS3). Once this is done connect the the PS3 via the HDMI connection and turn the system on and just hold the power button until the second beep before releasing the power button. I have used this method several times and it works every time.

Also once you have the correct input selected on the Bravia TV you can name the input as the game input if you want (I have all my inputs named on my TV's menu).

make sure when you go to your ps3 settings to switch it to HDMI you hurry and put your tv on the HDMI mode and press save or else it wont work
