So finally seeing the actual gameplay footage of Unreal Tournament (huge fan of the series) on PS3 has made me determined to get an HDtv before November.

I found this Magnavox 42" LCD 1080p at Costco for only $1199. The link is below. Can someone with knowledge on these things check out the specs and tell me what they think about this particular TV?

Also, is it true that 1080p is unnecessary if your TV isn't bigger than 46"? If so, I may just go for a 720p set as those are getting pretty cheap.

And what's the deal with this apparent price drop coming up soon? Is there actual fact of that or is it just speculation?

EDIT* Gamespot or Mozilla wont let me post the link so if someone has the time, it's at costco.com under electronics, tvs, LCDS. Thanks!

the specs looks good for the price, although the response time could be better
but really, you need to have your tv to know it's quality

and what price drop you're talking about?

Looks good but you may want to consider the 46" LCD 1080p Sceptre with 3 HDMI inputs for $1300

Yes and it's very difficult to notice a difference above 720p on smaller than 46" TVs.

Another one other than the 60gb model that's now $500 if you can find 1 is speculation.

Thanks for the tips! I saw that Sceptre one too, but wasn't too sure about it since it's not exactly a leading manufacturer.
Also, I was talking about a price drop on HDtvs, not the PS3. I've seen some posters mention something about all of them going down in price dramatically over the coming months but no one gives any details. If anyone has the slightest clue what they're talking about, please post!!
