I would never use such a feature in a story based game. The music is suppose to fit the situation, random tracks playing would kill it for me. Maybe like a racing game or a fighter I would use a feature like that. SepewrathAbsolutely. Instead of implementing this the devs should have ate a muffin. Would've been more useful.

I only use custom tracks on games like Bejeweled, Tetris, Superstart Dust HD and Burnout Paradise.
Hm, I forgot the challenges. It actually makes sense there - beating up baddies to the harder music I usually listen to.I won't touch it for my initial playthrough, but seriously, how awesome would it be doing challenge rooms with the Danny Elfman score playing?

It's a nice inclusion but I don't see myself using it outside of the challenge rooms, and even then I will use it rarely.
Pretty decent, if only all games would support such a feature. I read a rumor that the Vita is supposed to allow this for all games, hopefully it's true!MushroomWig
Yeah, I think it's a lot like cross-game chat on PS3 and how RAM limitations prevent it from being possible so devs have to go out of their way to include it.

Wrong. Microsoft has a patent for custom soundtracks on game consoles. They're not allowed to put in their operating system (XMB), but the devs can add it if they want. It just so happens that most devs don't care. Vita is allowed to have it because it's not a console. And to all you naysayers saying that custom soundtracks will take you out of the immersion of playing the game, you're telling me THIS* in the background while playing Arkham City doesn't make you feel even more like Batman? *THIS = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOSS-ZFDMo4Pretty decent, if only all games would support such a feature. Don't hold your breath. The ps3 was eventually supposed to get this with every game.
Apparently MS has a patent or EA threatened to boycott them if they did; there's a bunch of excuses floating around. None of these excuses take any sort of negotiation into consideration. Considering that grownups also play games, maybe they should find some grownups to run the companies.
And to those who think this feature is useless. Try using your imaginations: what songs might go with a Batman game. Hmmm.
what songs might go with a Batman game. Hmmm.Obviously Justin Bieber. :PLeifLongbottom
I don't think it matters if a song goes with the game, the music I listen to when playing the games that do support the feature don't really go but I listen to them because I like them.

Bieber could work. Even better, go oldschool with some Vanilla Ice, for the Mr.Freeze parts.I was actually thinking of the mountains of Batman scores that people probably want as an accompanyment but probably cost some extra bucks to licence: I'm sure Danny Elfman would want his cut.
I know what you mean though, I get some strange looks for my choices for Warhawk but I find them very fitting.
