that depends on the game and the system (the other system is notorious for 9 year olds doing exactly what you said)
I play Rainbow 6: Vegas with a headset and it really adds to the experience when you're working with someone to flank the other team. I've had people provide distracting or covering fire while I moved around back of someone and did the same for others.
Like another poster said i use a bluetooth headet... a motorola h500, on rainbow six vegas.It really does add to the experiance and helps you work with others better online. R6V especially, since its so tactical..demands that you have a headset or else you are oblivious to what is going on.
