I came across this article but in all honesty it sounds so far fetched. I'll gladly welcome a new Heavenly Sword anyday and I'm sure I'm not the only one (just add a jump button whoever develops the sequel).

[QUOTE="Young_Charter"][QUOTE="azzezino"]You liked the first one?azzezinoIt was ok.. I had a hard time killing the weird guy with blades. LOL, I got stuck at that fight and never went back to finish it. I gotta finish that game now, I'm feeling nostalgic. I got rid of it lol That part seem to impossible.
I remember reading an article last year that essentially said HS2 was not going to happen because Sony didn't see it as a viable franchise. Considering how HS performed and how people really didn't seem to impressed with it and post GoW3, people will only be even more critical, I don't see them bringing it back. But Enslaved looks like the spiritual successor, the character Trip looks just like Nariko. Just a little more covered up. SepewrathWhat if Sony Santa Monica took the reigns and actually improve upon the formula?

Im sure it would've made a couple extra thousand copies sold.
What if Sony Santa Monica took the reigns and actually improve upon the formula?azzezinoThey could do that, but that pulls SM away to work on a franchise that has proved a failure, instead of working on a game like GoW that is money in the bank.

You liked the first one?azzezinoi loved it! story was great cutscenes were fantastic and better then some movies, n actually cared for the characters and bohan was one of my favorite villians

Me too. Bohan was pretty freaking awesome, so was the lizard-chick..
False, Metal Gear Solid 4 still doesn't have trophy support. They could've made an update on it and gave it trophies. MGS4 is not a Sony game and didn't struggle for sales. I think Sony would be more inclined to support their own trophy system and to bolster sales for a struggling game, then Konami is to do it for a game that didn't need it.

The main character died, also it wasn't that good anyway.

[QUOTE="spookykid143"]Resurection or prequel. She isn't a interesting to character to warrant a prequel imo.The main character died, also it wasn't that good anyway.

Seriously doubt it, Team Ninja went multiplat for a reason.
Warriorboy1990
It is Ninja Theory. Team Ninja made Ninja Gaiden.
The problem with the game is that it was short and it was basically an arena fighter. The Sixaxis stuff was kind of annoying. It was a bit weird. The story and the combat itself were cool things about the game. The game would have been better if it were longer and if the enemies weren't so stupid and if there was more variety in enemy types. I don't see how this game failed sales wise. Didn't it sell a million and half copies worldwide and become a greatest hit in Europe? That isn't bad considering the userbase at the time of release. The system only had about 5 million users worldwide, so selling the way it did, I wouldn't call it a failure personally.
This maybe a far stretch but:
Rumours state that NT are working with collaboration with Capcom for DMC5, so maybe its a collaboration and SCEE are the publishers?...hmmmm na doesnt sound right :P
Had the game for 3yrs now, got stuck at Bohan's last for & never went back. Lol! If you have me on your list, you might see me gaming with it since this topic came up.
It won't happen the developers stated that HS didn't make for them any profit and said they won't be releasing a new one. I would post a link but it was like two years ago when I first read it.Star650According to Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades, the story for the sequel has been already written; in fact a whole trilogy is being planned. He stated, "We've had the story for the sequel for a while now. Hopefully, if this game is successful, then there's no reason why there shouldn't be a sequel and we'd very much like to go into that."[22] On March 21, 2008, on G4's Attack of the Show it was listed on the scrolling banner that Ninja Theory is not planning to create a sequel for Heavenly Sword, and instead has decided to work on a new project. Though information on the decision and the aforementioned project was sparse, it was stated that production time for the new project will span well over two years, and that the project, like Heavenly Sword, will be extremely cinematic. On May 21, 2008, IT Manager "Peonic" announced that a follow-up to Heavenly Sword would be extremely unlikely due to Ninja Theory's decision to pursue opportunities within multi-platform development: "We're not abandoning HS just on a whim because we want to go off and do something different - there's a great huge raft of reasons behind us taking the direction we are - and it's also the nature of the business that I'm not allowed to share any of those reasons with you. As for the 'you're just not doing HS2 NOW' comments - well one thing you learn in this industry is that you never say 'Never'. So I'm not going to say we'll "never" go back and make HS2 - but it's something I personally see as extremely unlikely." Nevertheless, since SCE retains the IP of Heavenly Sword, there is always the possibility of production on a sequel being outsourced to another developer.
HS was the first ps3 game i got when the ps3 launched. It is STILL the BEST use of the sixaxis that i have come across. (still havent played heavy rain tho) the graphics, fighting engine, teriffic voice acting, and story made this game a win. at least for me. if the game had gotten more attention and the devs put more time in it. i think it would be possible to mentionHS in the same breath as gow and uncharted. the game had tons of potential and most of the ppl who are knocking it, either nvr played it or couldnt get past the first boss.
a prequel could easily be made based on "the warrior" that originally used the sword to defeat evil in the cutscenes. to this day i still use heavenly sword to show off the awesomness of my ps3.
honestly , i still have this game and refue to trade it in..maybe im weird but i loved it..i hope for a sequel..nariko is the hottest badass chick character ever..and wasnt overpowered ... and was kinda unfriendly. ..sorta mean n never smiled except for when she fought whiptail lol
