Heavenly Sword same fate as Lair?

Lair is probably the most underrated game out right now. The controls are easy to get used to unless you are constanle having a seizure. but as for HS its already gotten a damn good review from egm.

Yeah I have serious doubts as to that. Reasons:

1.Reviews of HS have been 9.0 or higher with a 7(IGN)from one site.

2.I loved the demo and am sure many more did.

3.HS isnt controlled with the sixaxis and since Lair was the first game to fully use it of course it wouldnt be perfect(or so I've heard).

Those are my thoughts on it.

I don't think so. Lair was a totally crappy third party title, but Heavenly Sword isn't. I'm not saying it's Bioshock good, but it looks like a good enough title. Wish I had a PS3 to play it.darthzew

I believe the reviewers when they give something anything below a 5. Really, if you buy a game and you know that pretty much every professional reviewer agrees that a game isn't even fifty-percent as good as it should be, then you really aren't very intelligent.

So lair was just released and the reviews were terrible gorgeous graphics but everything else sucked..and from a few people i have seen that bought it they werent that impressed either....is the same fate to follow heavenly sword being released in like a week?damedash122

Lair isnt that bad of a game. By the way egm the same people that rated lair bad gave hs a good raiting also i loved the hs demo.

Poor Lair.

I still have this urge to buy it and I'm constantly fighting it off.

HS looks like it could be good or bad. I think the main issue is that it's way too short. The gameplay/graphics/sound have been getting pretty high scores.

Exactly man. If you haven't played the game for yourself then you should not be saying Lair is a crap game. Just because the reviewers didn't like it doesn't mean that the game is crap for a fact.

I do have Lair, and I've played it quite a bit and I'm happy to report that it's a pretty good game. One thing for people to keep in mind if they are having problems with the controls is that the movements required to maneuver the dragon don't need to be fast and over done movements. Just relax and find a good rhythm and you might just appreciate the controls. Granted not everyone will enjoy the motion sensing, but I've got a pretty darn good handle of them for Lair, and I find them to be very fun.

I really can't figure out how the game could get such horrendous reviews, but that is exactly why I don't listen to what so called professional reviewers have to say. The score a game gets means absolutely nothing to me, and is evident by my purchase of the game despite these reviews. Reviews are nothing more then someone else's opinion, and while I respect everyone's opinion that doesn't mean I agree with them.

Haven't played Lair, but Heavenly Sword is high quality. Fantastic presentation, entertaining story and dialogue, great combat system and good pacing. I don't think it deserves AAA, because it's too short, which is unfortunate, because the story could go a bit deeper and the framerate is a bit low. However, on Gamespot, it deserves a 8.0 (I give it a 8.6).

It also has the funniest line ever: (while requestig the password for the armory) "Maybe I'll hit your weak point for massive damage..?"

They've both been victimized by their own hype machine, creating unrealistic expectations which make the games seem worse than they actually are. Hopefully, discerning gamers will try the titles out for themselves before being swayed too much by critic scores.2headedhawaiian

Those are the only great games? I think you just need to spend more money... we've got a pretty solid catalogue considering how longthe PS3 hasbeen out.

What I find disturbing is that the sites giving Lair really low scores now were the ones to say the controls are fine.
