i really wonder if other game developers like eidos, konami etc feel inspired to make interactive movie games like heavy rain and fahrenheit?

it would be great if they do so, i think this can be a whole new genre

I totally agree. Playing Heavy Rain is like being in control of a movie. You have several protagonists unknowingly wrapped up in the same story and there are multiple choices to be made that influence the outcome.

I thought that Heavy Rain was a brilliant concept which was executed very well. The only let down really, for me, being the replay value. I think it would be a step forward if this type of game could have a randomly generated set of parameters on each playthrough. For example, in the case of Heavy Rain, the murderer could be a different character. This worked very well in the PC Game 'BladeRunner' years ago. Like in the film, you played a BladeRunner (not Deckard), charged with finding the replicant amongst characters you questioned and encountered during your investigation. The clever twist was, that whilst you investigated the same characters each time you played, you had to pay special attention to the clues, as any one of the characters could be the replicant you were trying to find. Obviously that's a tall order to implement in a game like Heavy Rain, but think of how awesome it would be if it the developers could pull it off.

It won't be that hard to top. Really. Even if it is a bit of a clone to Heavy Rain, all they'd have to do is get the popular anime voice actors and a good script writer....and perhaps someone who isn't so arrogant like David Cage, and there we go: A better game in the "new" genre.

Sure, I just would like to see more "real choice" over how a story develops, especially when I am not so crazy with the decisions the maker's made. That was my problem with Heavy Rain, I was surprised to realize there was more illusion of choice than actual choice, and one of the major plot elements that does not change no matter how you choose to play the game rather killed any replay value or interest I had in it as I thought it was a stupid plot decision.
