Heavy Rain demo hurdle

Okay, most ps3 owners know about the Heavy Rain demo hitting on the 11th of this month. However, several sites have announced that the demo is on the PSN store, and you have to "unlock" it. That seems okay. However, getting on the sites to input your information is a chore because the servers are overloaded. Is this how Sony and Quantic Dream are going to treat their fans and even potential buyers of the game? If you have to jump through these hoops just to play a demo, I fear for the finished product. Who here feels the same way?

After playing the demo, no - finished product is going to be great. It's not their fault the servers are slow, it's just the amount of traffic. If it worked better, I would actually say this is a pretty clever way to get a demo out there -- to the people who actually care about the game enough to earn it by playing a little mini game.

Oh I see now. There is a little game if you want to get the demo early. It'll be on the store normally later TC, if you don't want to do it.

You are overreacting a lot.....especially considering this is an early pre-release demo opportunity. I myself am trying to get on the site as well, but I hardly think the servers being overloaded is worth ranting over.

You're either new to gaming or must've not bothered with demo's betas before. Most games these days have a preview build of the game released early, with a competition, lucky dip, activity or whatever you have to do to get this early look at the game and then this is released publicly a short while after. They did not expect the game to recieve this much attention, so the servers went down. If you have tried to get the code and achieved that, then you will know how easy it is. I've done it for 3 people and it took me less than 3 or 4 minutes. I can't see that you'll be interested in this game if you cannot put up with a minor disturbance. Most games I think of have problems with servers the first day, which is no excuse, but you have to put up with that. Just do what you want, enjoy it. If you want to do the 'game' then go ahead, it oesn't take long and you can do it tomorrow when it will be fast, or you can wait till Thursday. This is like a reward for people that want to play the game early. We're so interested in the game we've taken time to do this, and if you don't, then you can wait nother week since clearly you aren't fussed about it.Adziboy

I have been through a few betas, including the CoD:MW one, and haven't had as much trouble as i have now. this isn't even a beta for a game, its just a mean to get a code to play the demo.

it because several thousand people are trying to download it at the same time, get real man. it happens to websites ALL the time.

you are the man, and deserving of the big boss sig! it worked and is downloading as i type this. 5 hrs of trying, and this comes along. its good to see that GS is a site that still has friendly users.

Yeah, I'm on my third play through now. I've done the first part 3 different ways, it's really cool.

I had no problem getting the demo and after playing it it reassured me on my decission to buy it.

Just to let you guys know there is a US registration site now where you can registrate and it gives you a US code so you dont have to make a Euro account http://heavyrainps3.com/registration/signup/en_US
