Heavy Rain Demo is coming

Frankly, I agree with David Cage in regards of finding a scene from the gamefor thedemo and actually making it work without fully letting the gamers enjoy the experience as it was truly meant to be. This is the kind of game that don't really need a demo, IMO.

No demo for me. Heavy Rain is all about the story, and if I spoil the story I have no incentive to get this game, and I want to get this game.

I'll have to download it when it comes out to see what all the hoopla is about. Right now I'm not too interested in it, but I'm keeping my eye out for it.

The way the game is set up, there are no restarts. No checkpoints, nothing like that. The game has real lasting consequences.

You get to play as 1 of 4 characters throughout the story and each have their own tales to tell. But when I said "no restarts" what I mean is that if one of those characters dies, that's it. They're dead. Game over for that character. The story goes on, but it changes dynamically based on your actions and what happens to the characters in the game. Lets say there are 2 endings per character. Multiply that by 4 and you've got 8 different endings. Something tells me there will be even more than that.

So there's your replay value.

Best news ever. Loved Indigo Prophecy. Should love this too.

And BTW TC, there was a Indigo Prophecy demo, and Heavy Rain is just like that game with new gameplay features.

^^ but seriously...how come you can't process QTE? I know of some games that are very hard for one to pull them off (Spider-Man 3 comes to mind), but lately whenever I encounter this events I feel they've become easier and easier to pull off (Uncharted 2's QTE were very easy and hardly a challenge).azzezino

I know the real meat of this game will be the story itself and the multiple outcomes, but at least we get a taste of what the interface is like.

I would be buying this regardless if a demo was put out.

...Actually putting it that way, maybe a demo will hurt sales. Generally people act stupid when buying games, you could get a sizeable number of people to pick this up who have absolutely no interest in it (then they'd return to Gamestop all butthurt and sell it back).

This is why it is so awesome for them to put out a demo. I don't need the demo because I know how good the game will be. This will help the fence sitters as well as those who are unfamiliar with the game to set expectations. More awareness = more potential sales = possible continuation of series. I'm kind of surprised that HR even is even being made considering how under the radar the first game was.

I know. I'm just one of those worrying types. I justreally want it to do well in sales though.
