OK so without spoiling anything, I'd really rather not play the first part.
I'm not gonna watch, but I know what you mean 'cos I've read about it, I think. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be better when you play it yourself. Sets the scene.
WTF is this game? The SIMS or a damn murder mystery? I don't think the developers even know what it is. This video instantly took this game off of my watch list. I don't care if it is supposed to have a riveting story, just seeing whats in that video turned me right off. Ridiculous...

Ridiculous... well i doubt the whole game is gunna be like that or else know one would be interested in it. theirs prolly more scenes like the one in E3 than anything else
i've watched this footage along with some youtube footage and haven't been impressed with any of it. I do not see how this game is so highly touted by many ps3 owners as there are plenty of other exclusives that seem far superior to this title.

Its not a game for your average gamer these days. And that footage certainly wont win over that standard mainstream gamer. Its much more likely to turn them off to it actually. Personally I am looking forward to it, its like an old school adventure game with hopefully a really compelling story.
Anybody who was looking forward to this game, and has let that video put them off: you're an idiot. It's a tutorial at best, just to get used to the on screen prompts.
i wouldnt really consider myself a mainstream gamer. I'm looking forward to 3d dot heroes later this year as well as last guardian. So i like the niche games. It just seems the fanbase for this game gets really pissy when anyone says anything other than praises for hr

thats because most of the time people who critisize this game do so in a very harsh manner. not saying you did though. as for the game itsself the way i see it is as point and click adventure game something like those monkey island games but prettier and with more interactive controls. That type of game isnt for everyone so maybe thats why u dont seem to like it but i kno im looking forward to it
The one thing that bothered me about the video was the use of the sixaxis controls. It sort of reminded me of the first Uncharted, where it really didn't need to be there. Do you really need to shake the controller to brush your teeth, sort of looks like throwing things like that in there can break immersion, I hope things like that don't pop up often and they just stick to using the control stick. Sometimes it seems like in these Sony published games, they throw sixaxis controls in there, just to remind you that thier there.

do you even control the characher when they are walking around? or do they just control themself and walk where ever they are programed to and when they get there you do the QTE?

I think you can pretty much tell by how they are moving that they are user controlled. And another thing, this game is going to be boring unless you have played and enjoyed games like Shenmue, Indigo prophecy etc...
