Whats up everyone. I don't own a PSP but i've really been considering buying one. I have a handful of questions (quite lengthly) and if I could get them answered, it would be more than appreciated.

1) How much life does the PSP have left? I know its been out for about 2.5 years, will it be supported for a good amount of time still?

2) Ive been hearing about the slim version or whatever it is. Is that the best way to go? Does it come in multiple colors?

3) Since I don't know much of the games for it, If anyone could name like 5-7 of the top games for it so I know what to go for. I play mainly action/adventure, FPS, RPG, Fighting, Racing.

Thanks alot folks.

1. It is a Sony system and it looks like it has a lot of life left.

2. Get the slim. It comes in Black, Sliver, and the Star Wars Version

3. Go to the PSP page it shows the top PSP games.

It's kind of hard to say how much life the PSP has left. Sony has never had a handheld before this generation. Your best guess is that it's contingent on the Nintendo DS. Sony and Nintendo will try and release their new handheld around the same time. The GBA released one year before the Gamecube. Likewise the DS released one year before Wii. If that is any sort of gauge then they will release one year prior to the release of their next Generation of consoles. If the Wii released last year and has an expected life cycle of 5 years then you can expect a minimum of three years out of your PSP before the next generation comes around. Not to mention sony is good about extending the life of their systems even into their next generation.

The difference between the slim and the original is marginal. There are some claims of improved load times and d-pad. However these seem to be somewhat arbitrary and not universally representative. I would suggest going with the best price you can find. Overall the Silver PSP is the best value. It comes with arguably the best game (Daxter) for the system a 1 GB card, and a Family Guy UMD.

Well you didn't really narrow it down there with games that you like. But on the up side you'll be easy to please.

Daxter (if you don't get the silver)
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror
Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
Final Fantasy Tactics
Killzone: Liberation
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles
Lemmings
Wipeout Pure

and games to lookout for

Warhammer 40000: Squad Commander
God of War: Chains of Olympus
Final Fantasy: Crisis Core
Kingdom Hearts: Birth of Sleep

One last thing be sure to buy a screen protector. Hori is the best IMO.

1. I say it hasalot of life left in it since its a Sony system.

2. The Slim is the best way to go since you don't own a psp. It comes in three different colors:piano black, silver, and white.

3. Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories/Vice City Stories, Final Fantasy War of The Lions, Tekken Dark Ressurection, Socom Bravo 2, Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow, Metal Gear Solid Ops, MidnightClub 3.

1. Since the slim has just been released about a month ago or so, it's still got alot of life left in it. Good titles gonna be coming out soon.
2. The Slim version IMO is better, it's 30%+ lighter then the original, double the RAM then the phat one, faster loading times, TV out put, etc. Colors it comes with in states are : Ice Silver ( Daxter Bundle. ) Paino Black ( Core Set. ) and White ( Star Wars Bundle, has Darth Vader on back. )
3. Daxter, Brave Story New Traveler, Jenna D'Arc, Final Fantasy Tatics, Killzone Liberation, Street Fight Alpha Max 3, Monster Hunter Freedom, Monster Hunter Freedom 2.

Yeah it's been out a little under a year. Supposedly the multiplayer is fantastic. Be advised however that it is third person and is farcry from the FPS. However based upon my experience with the original Killzone that's a good thing.
