It's for when you want to transfer like the PSP games from the PSN Store over to your PSP. Also it will have more functions such as with Gran Turismo 5, with remote play, the PSP will act as the rear view mirror.

That was the F1 Championship Edition demo and they scrapped that feature for the game afaik. Of course, the GT5 guys could use that feature, but there are no announcements about it.
I could be wrong....but I think the point of remote play is to be able to play whatever media is on your PS3 from your PSP no matter where you are.The_Rick_14
