This happened to me as well buddy. There isn't any way to fix it yourself, you'll just need to either get your PS3 repaired/get a replacement system. If you've still got the warranty you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

if you mean the disc don't read any blu-ray disc... it happened to me before. What I did was I brought it to the shop where I bought it and they contacted Sony and get a replacement. Mine is 80GB. Try to bring it to the shop where you bought it..

when you insert the game disk, is there an icon at the top right of screen showing the console is reading the disk? if there is and the game hasn't load for a long time, you have exact same problem like i was

i've had my 80gb ps3 since nov of 2007. i have now 9 games (including gta4) for it and i have used it constantily since i got it....and never once have i any problems with it (besides the occasianal freeze, that it).

so i recieved my copy gta 4 from Bestbuy on Tuesday the 29th and I started playing it on Wednesday the 30th. It was running perfect for the first couple of hours but then I took it over to my friends house and it started to freeze up. So I reset my system (Turned off power by holding the button for 5 seconds, then took out disc while it was shutting down and then flipped the power switch on the back and took out the AC cord). After doing this after multiple times of it freezing (The same steps every time) it started working fine for the rest of the day.

Now Thursday the First of May, I started up GTA 4 and it started freezing again so I did the process of turning it off and etc. but it still did not work. So I went to sleep as it was getting quite late

Today I started up GTA 4 and it started freezing up again but then after a couple times of restarting the system it would not stop. I then did the fix guide that Take-Two suggestedfor GTA 4 Freezing Problems

After completing all the steps then I started GTA 4 and it seemed to work until it froze while it was installing GTA 4 to the hard drive. I restarted my PS3 and then GTA 4would not even show up in the XMB as an option to be played. I then took out the disc and restarted my PS3 again and then I put the disc back in...it showed up but when the GAME (GTA 4) started up the it would show pitch black for a second and then it would go back to the XMB and a message popped up saying:

An error occurred during the start operation. (80010514)

I then put in Motorstorm to test outif my PS3 was broken...it would either not show up as a playable option orit wouldfreeze up in the game or say that same error message.

GTA 4, I think, has broken my PS3...

Has this happened to anybody else ? Or does anybody have anything that might help ? Is my PS3 really broken ?

Also if I have to send it in then how does that all work

I heard 80GB PS3 has 1% rate of disc read failure.. and it seems that you bought PS3 even earlier than I was, 1st January 2008. One week after that, the problem came. So I went online and check for the solution. Found out that many people suffered the same problem, especially to those who owned 80GB. Most says they contacted Sony and then got the replacement. Since, I live in South-East Asia, it was totally hard to contact Sony. So I called the shop where I bought it and explained to them the ps3 80GB issue i found on the internet. After that they took my ps3 and i got my replacement two weeks after
