Help! Cant get my PS3 to play Call of Duty 3 in Multiplayer! Plz read error msg

As soon as I hit multiplayer....it says "Your Network Configuration file was not found. To create, edit or delete Your Network Configuration files please use th network adaptor start-up disc"

I assume this is actually for a PS2....so why is it giving my a problem on my PS3?? I can play all my other games online...and I am currently connected...I checked. Please help me. (COD5 and COD4 both connect just fine)

I hope someone will please help me solve this. For I want to play it first...before I get to playing 5...where statics are available for compare online. I want to get good at controling the game...and an older version would be great. Please someone help me figure out how to get it online (COD3) on my PS3.

COD 3! COD4 and 5 are out, I understand your reason to play COD3 but I don't think any COD fans are still going to be playing COD3, most will play COD4 as it has the best online for the series, the rest will play COD5.

Yes...I bought COD3 for PS2. I am trying to go online with it with my PS3...so I can get the hang of steering. I have never played a PS3 Shooter before, and I want to have the hang of it before I start playing COD4 or 5 (I have both) so my average will be good by the time I start playing. I am on prestige 9 (Cod5) with my Wii...but VERY soon, I'll be done :) YAY....ready for PS3 versions...SO...will the PS2 game work online with a PS3 console? Thank you all for input. OH...and is there a way to reset the game with a new profile so I can start in bootcamp again...for I played it a little (COD5) Months ago, and need to start all over, would like to pick my Wii Screen name to carry it on (CrA5H)
