I just got my PS3 and its already attracting dust!!!  Reading the safety guide, it said not to place on carpet. As i have carpet all over the house, this is an issue. Does ne1 think it would be better placing the PS3 on a wooden table & playing it there instead off playing it on the carpet floor? And should i leave the PS3 connected everynight on stand-by mode or disconnect the cables?

Also is it alright to use a Dyson vaccuum cleaner to clean the vents or is it 2 powerful?

THANKS!!

You do not want to put either next gen videogame system on a carpet horizontally.  It may overheat which is why Sony and MS tell you not to do it.

The table would be a better idea. As for the vaccum cleaner, you'd probably be ok, but there are better ways. I keep mine clean with a lint free cloth i bought to clean my glasses. They're exactly the sam material as the cloths you get with some LCD TVs to keep them clean. Give it a quick wipe with one of these and it'll be good as new. You can pick them up from opticians for about £1.

A can of compressed air works for me since I'm somewhat obsessed over not scratching my PS3
