I've had a dual shock 3 for about 3 weeks now, and the R2 button sticks now fow no reason, it just happened all of a sudden and stopped going back up after being pressed. I have used it normally, I've had my six axis since launch. What do you guys suggest I do. It completely sticks, and has to be pushed back after each and every press. I dont understand why this happened.
Sorry to hear that. I can only imagine how you feel becauase I have a DS3 as well, and if that happened right after I bought it heads would roll. Sell it and buy another.
As stupid as this sounds and unbelieveble it may seem. I had a problem with me right analog stick not the R2 button, sticking in the upwards position. But the more I used it the problem went away by itself. I had imported mine from playasia.com when they first came out and I had this problem. I didn't feel like sending it back (it would be $8 each way) so I kept it and BINGO! It works fine now. I don't what happened. Maybe it gets stucks on the plastic and the constant moving of it causes it to rub away the plastic, I don't know. So maybe just try using it and see what happens. If worst comes to worst just trade some old games, movie etc. in and get a new one or try returning it.

even if I dont have the original box? what about warranty? Could I send it to sony if I dont have the box or papers that came with it?
