HELP! GTA4 isnt working

the begining goes thru just fine. then when it says "loeading- (what ever missinion i did)" it just stays there forever. what should i do? im trying to uninstall and reinstall as we speak. but if it doesnt work?:?

Someone suggested logging off PSN...I tried it, it worked. But I couldn't then log back in and go online. It froze almost immediately when I tried. Grr..

However, if you just want to get back into your single player game, try that. It worked for me.

BTW. this info on how to solve this problem should me made stickied...IMO

Pretty much, for now. Until there's a patch, anyway.

At the moment, I'm just happy I can still play the game. Even though GTA4 online destroys the single player game.

Pretty sad that we basically have to trick our PS3's into playing this game.

I was so amped to be playing it online tonight, too. Team Deathmatch is insanely fun. Four player drive by's!!!

Get a new copy, I couldn't even get past the first 5 minutes of my original disk. I tried what you tried, still nothing, so I got a new copy. Now I have no issues in my game and can play everything fine (knock on wood!). I think that there are just some faulty disks out there....

Get a new copy, I couldn't even get past the first 5 minutes of my original disk. I tried what you tried, still nothing, so I got a new copy. Now I have no issues in my game and can play everything fine (knock on wood!). I think that there are just some faulty disks out there....

no i doubt that bro, i exchanged mine 3times!! twice at gamestop, and the third time i sneaked in my friends room and switched the 2 disks, and he is still playin it doin 15hrs, and mean while im still on that problem

actually i am lol, beside i just wanted to test it, eventually i told him, cuz i wanted to know if he encountered any problems cuz i switched the disks? but he said no hes fine and all and i told him then that i swapped it to try to see if its the disk but im still angry

damn, mine isn't working either, i'm trying to play without being logged in right now, hope it works.
