I convert the files using Total Video Converter, the process usually takes a couple of hours. Problem is, when I transfer the converted mpeg4 file onto my psp memory stick and try to access it on my psp is is displayed as corrupt data!

I have tried with three or four different movies, some I've downloaded and others ripped from dvd, but always get the same result.

Any suggestions?

Where you put the movies and what firmware they're encoded for makes a difference. If you have the slim then you've got firmware 3.0+. That means you can put movies in the /VIDEO folder, but only if your encoder did it the FW which allowed that folder. If not (and my commercial package doesn't) then you still need to use the /MP_ROOT/xxxx folders (I can't remember what they are). If they aren't on your machine then you should format your memory stick. That creates all the folders .... as well as wiping the stick.
