[Help] Just bought playstation 3 :) got few questions

Hi guys, I just bought a playstation 3 and I'm so lovin' it :D.. I've got Fallout 3 edition 80 Gb. I've just update firmware 2.53 and it works just fine.. I bought 2 games MGS 4 and Uncharted.

I've got few questions please help me..

1. I don't have HDTV :( my TV just a standard TV. When I'm about to buy GTA 4 the sales person told me that I have to have an HDTV otherwise I cannot play it.. Is that true? if it is than, is there any other titles that have this requirement?.

To be frank. that sales guy is a moron. He told you something completely and totally untrue, so don't pay any attention to it.

well besides that CONGRATULATIONS, as everyone here says, welcome to the dark side, you will be loving you ps3 since its an awsome machine and i really hope you can get an hdtv soon along with some good qualitiy games, also dont forget to clean it, that thing really loves to suck dust.

as a matter of fact tht shopkeeper was right.......if u don't have an hdtv and try to play pal gta 4 on a ntsc tv it won't play as ntsc tvs dont support pal output which is above the output of ntsc tvs....danyarif

om g i wish i hav an hdtv, when i played mgs4 at my cousins house, well my jaw dropped and the i said, OMG THIS DAM THING LOOKS SO FKING SICK.

I don't think the sales guy was dumb (c'mon, can someone who works there be that stupid?), I think he was just trying to up his commission check by selling you a new tv.Thetaguru

You bought a Blu-Ray player, of course he's going to try to sell you an HDTV if you don't have one.

He did lie though, it is in no way necessary, although it does make the experience 100x better.

The only advantage(IF YOU CHOOSE TO LOOK AT IT THAT WAY) in having a HDTV is enhanced graphics. The games still look great on a SDTV but not as good as they could be, otherwise the gameplay and additional functions of the PS3 are not effected.

Oh and one more thing....my Siberian Husky has more intelligence then that sales person. lol...please tell him I said so!!!

Sound like he was tring to sale a Tv as well. Don't worry about if... you got a lot of good games to catch on on enjoy..

it's ok... for now.... but put it in your shopping list, an 1080 HDTV and a HDMI cable... it will raise up your gaming to another level! it's amazing! stunningly beautiful!
