Hello i know their are a ton of topics like this, but im still not sure since im being a little more specific. Well i'm looking for a long RPG game to play that will keep me entertained with side quests and grinding. I looked into monster quest and its not really for me, and the fact i have no one close to me who plays it, and i have dial up ,online play for it is out of the quest. The same goes for Phantasy star Portable. Tales of eternia and breath of fire 3 look interesting to me, but i only found them for 40 bucs each, used. Crimson gem saga looks good to me, but some have said its a short game. Brave story looks good, but its also said to be short. I played star ocean 1 for a bit, and it seems so-so to me. Also no ps1 ideas since i have some on my psp, and i have to go to a wifi hotspot, and I'm just looking for a umd game right now. So any ideas guys? Thanks ^_^ Oh i own: Final Fantasy 1 Final Fantasy 2 Fina Fantasy: crisis core Legend of heroes (1-3) Final fantasy Tactics: War of the lions And I'm about to pre-order Final fantasy Dissidia ( guess you can figure i like final fantasy xD)

I see you own FFT, so you might give Disgaea a try; it's similar in that it is an SRPG. I didn't much like it, but I know many people do.

How are side missions? and what about end game? Also on a side note, what does everyone think about Mana Khemia Student Alliance ? I know about the load times, but cant you just save part of it on the memory stick to reduce the load times? Also I want to get into disgaea, i'm just not sure about it. I have never been a big SRPG fan(but FFT was one of the rare games that i loved, i own the ps1 and psp version.)

awesome game man, very cool..biggest downside is that it is a little easier than most games (lost of heal points) but just don't use them if you want to increase your difficulty?

Disgaea has a pretty good story. Multiple endings too (the main three ending depend on how many times you kill your allies lol)

Its pretty long too, with a lot of charecter creation options.

Yeah i read their are a lot of videogame related jokes, and the etna mode looks interesting to me too. Can you explain to me how the towns work? and is it like FFT where i choose the city and area and fight stuff? also for the game you guys think this is a good deal? http://www.rosenqueen.com/product.php?productid=16258&cat=22&page=1 its 35 altogether with 12 dollar shipping. (comes with the game, strategy guide, the disgaea manga, and psp case) Also anyone get the strategy guide? how is it? and is it newspaper like oblivion/fallout 3, or glossy? thanks guys ^_^

You basically have a home base that you freely move around in. So you can talk to people and buy stuff, etc. The Story in Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is amazing. It has a good pace and can even be serious when it wants to but its probably the most hilarious game I have ever played (excluding the sequels).

Edit: Oh, and yeah you can choose where to fight and stuff, it basically has everything you can want in a videogame, optional bosses, side quests, extra characters, overpowered weapons, teleportation (sort of), you get what I'm saying.

For Disgaea's new game+ bonuses you probably already know you can keep your levels and always keep getting new endings (I think 8 different endings total). Of course there are as I already mentioned uber powerful optional bosses after you beat the game that kinda expands on the story a bit. The level cap is level 9999,....sooo that takes a lot longer to reach than other games where their cap is 99. And yes you can have optional bosses and enemies by at level 9999 as well. I don't think I ever got Laharl to level 9999 or even close.
