Help me enjoy my PS3!

The controller takes some getting used to if you are pc gamer, just try to make yourself comfortable with it and try different games like for example devil may cry 4 or racing games GT5 (gran turismo) that are more suited for console gaming.

MLB 09 The Show if you like baseball. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is good if you are into racing. You should atleast rent Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4.

Keep an eye on MAG, I know you don't care for console shooters but 256 online should be quite fun.

I've been an avid PC gamer for many years (Pool of Radiance for you really old people LOL). I recently got a PS3 for Christmas. And I must say that even having 5 games for it, I never turn it on except as a BluRay player. Please help? An 80g PS3 seems a bit much for a BR player alone lol. Any suggestions? I love FPS games, but hate them on consoles. I love flight games (I fly choppers in real life so naturally I love the games) but have not found any on the PS3 that I liked (rented a few) I absolutely hate puzzle maze thinking type games (ie. Tomb Raider style) I desperately love good old Mech Warrior 3 and 4 for the PC and any game similar Believe it or not, the only fun I have had on my PS3 is Tiger Woods but that gets old fast too. And despite my job, I actually enjoy and own GTA:IV lol (sometimes it's fun to be the other side haha)michael412

MLB the show is solid, but there is a steep learning curve. MGS4 is amazing aswell, however if you haven't played the previous games you won't know what the hell is going on. Uncharted is a great game too. I know you said you dont like tomb raider, but uncharted has less puzzles and the difficulty is on where near what tomb raider was. Its script is also amazing, it feels like your watching an indiana jones movie. I haven't beat it yet but its becoming one of my favorite games. Your best bet for getting some games you like is taking advantage of the myriad of free demos available in the PS store.

Valkyria Chronicles will be the remedy you've been searching for :P

I would suggest looking into PS3 exclusives, any FPS will probably be better on the PC, I used to have a really nice gaming PC but 2 years later it became an outdated PoS so I went back to playstation. If you have the money to update your comp, keep doing it because shooters on the PC are unrivaled.

Though some shooters, only on the PS3, might be good for you:

Killzone 2 is fantastic, even if you didnt play the first (not alot of people did)

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, I highly recommend this game for you because it is 3rd person, also because the second in the series comes out this year

If youre creative, or enjoy trying to be creative, get Little Big Planet, its one of the best games on the console

If you like sports games and like hockey, get NHL 09, or NHL 10 which comes out this year, IMO best sports game (much better than madden)

If you like Racing games, Gran Turismo 5 will be the best one ever made, though not until next year

For as much as you plug that game, they should pay you.

get used to the controller first then you will start to enjoy the ps3, some games you may like, Dead Space (will scare the whits out of kids but there is some puzzle solving in it), Fall Out 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, hope you start to enjoy your system soon.

Well this is a long shot, but since you like Mechwarrior as myself does, I was thinking Armored Core. It's really the only mech kind of game on the PS3 and it is pretty fun. It's got a pretty deep customization engine and the gameplay is simple and fun, controls might feel weird at first. I dun know, it's pretty cheap on the ps3 so it's not like you'll be really wasting much.

Assassin's Creed is pretty fun, no puzzles or anything from what I remember. It's a Sandbox game like GTA but takes place during the crusades... what else...games like Devil May Cry and what not are very action packed and entertaining but don't last as long as you'd probably like. And actually if you're into flying games Try Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. I haven't played it yet but it might be something you're interested in.

Get Resistance 2 or Resident evil 5 you wont leave your controller for 2 months :) and you can wait for InFamous you wont leave your cont for a year lolz
