Help me find games for my PS3

Just got my PS3 at Xmas... So far have NHL10 (great!), and am currently enjoying Uncharted 1. Plus the BluRay feature is awesome too (5 stars for Planet Earth).

I want help from some with experience to help make a list of games that I may like based on the following aspects of gaming I enjoy:

1) best games for me on PS 2 included God of War I & II (by far the best), Socom type games, RE4 was cool, and currently enjoying Uncharted 1 on PS3.

2) not so sure I would enjoy RPG, like Dragon Age, but am intrigued by Demon Souls, and Dante's Inferno looks promising.

I plan on playing COD: MW soon, and also own BioShock and just purchased Dead Space. So aside from these and GOW III, and also Uncharted 2, what are some suggestions of titles I should enjoy.....? Would also like some input as to some games my wife and daughter would enjoy too. Thinking Little Big Planet may fall into this category, but we also have a Wii with a good assortment of games for that.

I do have NSMB wii, and it is a blast, the whole family enjoys that. LBP looks like it would be a fun family game almost, but from the above comment I am starting to become scepticle about it. Have any of yous plaid Braid? And to who said Dead Space was scary - would this be the "scariest" game out for PS3? I was always wanting to try the Silent Hill series, but heard from some that is was kind of lame.

Family games - Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet

If you need a headset you can't go wrong with the SOCOM bundle.

Demon Souls is one of my favorite games this gen but is a love it or hate it type game.

Batman AA was awesome, MGS4, and the best sports game around is MLB The Show ( I'm not a huge baseball fan but this game is amazing).

dead space....so immersive. you will jump.

heavenly sword...really great slept on game. best use of sixaxis on ps3. and if you like gow, you will like this.

simpsons game...fun for all. nice co op. some adult laughs as well.

I never played a MGS game until 4 and loved every second of it. I didn't have any trouble gathering what was going on either. Honestly I'm responding to this because had I listened to comments like this I would have missed out on an absolutely amazing game exp.

Assassin's Creed 2, MGS 4, Killzone 2, and Bayonetta.

Infamous, Assasins Creed, Borderlands.

go to best buy, gamestop, walmart or whatever your local game retailer is and walk to the ps3 aisle...can't go wrong with anything you pick up...

Funny hearing people say they "grew up" on MGS series, etc..... heck I "grew up" playing ColecoVision!

Who's saying I didn't read reviews, etc.....? Of course I did, and I've been let down before on a review. What's wrong with mentioning what I enjoy and seeing what others with similar tastes suggest?

+1 for Heavenly Sword, if you can find it cheap.

And... may I suggest Mirror's Edge? It's a multiplatform title but plays best on a PS3, it's short, but it's a very original and unique experience and cheap (15-20$).

Also, you just have to play Metal Gear Solid 4.

So you like SOCOM on PS2, then buy SOCOM on PS3, ive not played it but if you likeit get it. I would recommend (in no particular order) :-

- Killzone 2
- CoD MW2 and MW, try to get these two before WaW, in my opinionthey're better
- Assassins Creed 2, better than AC1
- GTA IV, if you like them games then its great
- Motorstorm Pacific Rift is good fun aswell
- Resistance 2 is ok, not the best but you may like it (I prefer Killzone 2)
- FIFA > PES
- I dont like RPG's, so I cant help you with that
- Dead Space and stuff have demos on PS Store, try them first

Overall try demos of game you might get, I find it helps me decide if I like them or not, but these games above are great. I either own them myself or have played/ been recommended by friends

I really recommend Uncharted 2 and Resident Evil 5. I found it hard on my first playthrough but after that it is dead easy, even proffesional mode feels easy with the best guns maxed out.
