Help me out! PS2 or PS3

I really want to play a lot of games on the PS2 that I've missed in the past few years. Among them, FFX, KH I and II, MGS2 and 3, and God of War 1 and 2.

Should I just pay $130 for a ps2, or just save, and save, and save for a PS3?

If I saved now, I could probably get a PS3 by christmas, but I could get a PS2 in the next couple of weeks.

I'm leaning toward getting a PS3, because itd be a waste of 130 if the PS3 can play PS2 games.

What do you think?

you get 3 consoles in one PS/PS2/PS3 and a blu-ray player as well

Why not just buy the ps3? You'll get the whole back catalog of the ps2 + all the ps3 games. There's most likely going to be a $400ps3 announced very soon too so you can save $100 from what you would have to pay now.

Go get a PS3, first of all if you could wait to play those games this long you can wait a little longer, second if you gonna buy a ps3 later on anyway, it was a waste of 130$, because u wont use it anymore once you get a ps3

I saved and bought a ps3, then I played all the ps2 games i missed last gen, and you know what the games are so cheap now its worth just saving for the console, becuase the games are not a pirce you really have to worry aobut

Just save and get a PS3 because you will be getting one anyway, and by saving the money you would be spending on the PS2 and later the PS3 you could get a few used PS2 games that you missed out on. Then later when the games you want come out you should have some extra cash saved for some new games.

if you can wait, there's rumor about a 399$ PS3 coming
and i won't recommend a PS2 if you can afford a PS3... really, there's just so much more you can do with a PS3

i got a ps3 about a 2 months back and it is awesome. U get online for free and ps home is comming out soon which is sum virtual network thing. So i would just wait till christmas and get a ps3

Get a PS2. The PS3 is going to drop in price AND improve in quality (bigger HD, etc) every 6 months. and there is easily enough good games on the PS2 to keep you busy for a year or two, if you don't have one already. Save your money to buy it then, or pick up one of the other new systems, that are cheaper + better game lineups.
