help me plz!!!

someone please help me!! i was playing my grand theft auto 4 on my playstation 3 last night when suddenly it froze up and it had never done anything like that before ever!! it had worked just fine till then!!now whenever i try 2 play game the playstation doesnt read my games or dvds!! it still turns on just fine and everything works fine like the internet but i cant play games!!!!! does anybody have any idea what i should do?!?!?! if so please help me so i can play gta 4 again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This happened to me all but 2 weeks ago!!

The game froze, the PS3 said 'attampting to restart' or somthing like that? now if you put in a game or a DVD or whatever it wont load?!

Ok, now you are going to have to call the Sony helpline..i lost their number sorry but if you loo karmound, it wont be too hard to find!!

Tell them games arn't loading and what-not, they will probably ask for the serial nubmer, which is located on the back of the PS3 on a white bar-code thing!!

With some luck, they will probably arrange a date for Sony to send out a deliveryman, who will take your old PS3 in exchange for a brand new one!!

It's as simple as that!!

Really, calling Sony is the only way!! the exact same thing happened to me littural just below 2 weeks ago!!!

Err..about the memory thing...well...yes..you will lose all your save data, unless you do something about it!!

if you have a memory stick or USB pen, plug that into your PS3, go to 'game save utillity' or one of those options and you should be able to copy all your saved games to the Mem-stick/Pen by pressing triangle, and then copy..it should then tell ask you wher you want to copy it..from there, choose where you want to copy it too, in this case a Mem-stick or USB pen..and thats it!!

Once the old PS3 has been taken away, just plug the stick/pen into the new'un and upload it all using the same methud..jsut backwards!!...worked for me..i used a mem-stick (my PSP mem-stick to be more pacific!)

I was devastated when my PS3 broke so i know exactaly how you feel!!

Oh! and dont forget to transfer your save-data to a mem-stick/USB pen..i got a replacement PS3 but that one broke a week later (my fault, dont tell Sony!!)...anyway, i forgot to re-copy my saves and lost about 12 hours worth of Oblivion gameplay!!!
