Is there a way to get all my data back or do I have to start from scratch as in Trophies and completing painful task like God of War 3 on chaos mode? Please help if you know anything about restoring data.

Any trophies that weren't synced will be lost so will all your saves. Yeah go beat the crap out of your brother.ryrulezwhen you say synced do you mean while signed in online? It's painful that I have to do all of this lol and even more painful of the thought that I have to get all of my guns back from modern warfare 2 damn this sucks lol.

In the "games" section you actually have to select for it to sync to PSN servers.

You won't lose any of your guns if you're using the same PSN ID.
Unfortunately you're screwed now but my advice is use a USB stick to back up your saves in the future, it takes about 2 minutes. Every PS3 owner should be doing this. Also take a belt sander to your brother's family jewels at some point..
Well you can technically recover the saved data, formatting only tells the OS that the area can be written, it doesn't actually remove any data. Its a bit of a pain but if you connect your PS3 HDD to your PC and use recovery software on the HDD, it should bring back most if not all your data.

unless the ps3 formats with low level the data should be still physically on the disk (files are marked to be rewritten), maybe you can try to remove the hard drive from your console , hook it upto a pc and run data recovery on it , backup the saves and copy them back with a usb stick, not sure if it works but its at least worth a try
