M rated is... M= Mother approved.
Tell her the M is doing all the work for her. If theres an M, its mother approved. Simple as that.
I would say to tell her that she could look into any game you are going to buy to make sure she approves.
also explain the rating system to her, and show her some good, non-violent games like LBP

Your allowed to use the forums on a online gaming website but you can't play an M rated game ? If your 15 or older this is just sad and depressing. Your mom probably just needs to get laid more.
Alright heres what you do. Watch South Park and learn from Eric Cartman.
You can get inFamous, both Uncharteds, Valkyria Chronicles. And they're rated T. And they're amazing games.

The key part of his post was "too violent". Last time I checked killing other human beings counts as violent.

So just because a mother does not want her kids to play rated M games she needs to get laid more? That is news to me. This guy looks like video games should be the least of his worries. I really hope English is not your first language TC.[QUOTE="MrGanny"]

violence also includes the gore, and manner in which they are killedWell everyone has to grow up at some point and see whats out there, M rated games can help de-sensitize you and get you ready for life EpiphoneMan2008Yes cause GTA4 shall get you ready for the real world..I guess it will teach you that crazy people are out there but then again all he has to do is look at the news to see that.
Yeah don't show her Batman... Even though its rated T, its violent as hell :lol:I'm 15 I plan at my next chance to show here Little Big Planet and Batman Arkam Whatever I figure a sackboy and batman are good familer friendly things to show her

Seriously though M rated video games is the least of this mom's worries, if anything, **** parenting is what's going to screw this kid up.

Why is showing her games like LBP going to convince her to buy an M rated game? You can't even buy M rated games unless you are 18 anyway, so she shouldn't worry. If she's not buying it for you I don't see how you'll be able to get those games. That is unless they are less strict at game stores where you live.
What Grade is that? If that is high school which Im sure it is. An M rated game should be the worse of your moms problems and yours. Im sure you can some how aquire the game... At 15. Jeeze.....I would probably get banned for saying what I was doing then....Drinking, Smoking weed before school, hooking up with girls, keg parties........
You need to calmly explain to your mother that it's a game. When I was younger I always managed to convince her about it because video games, contrary to what that scab Jack Thompson says, are not harmful to the mind if told ahead of times that they are for enjoyment and are not reality. The key is not to shout or make it seem like every other kid has it.
Why is showing her games like LBP going to convince her to buy an M rated game? hotfiree
he's not trying to buy an M rated game atm. He's just trying to get a PS3. his mom saw a commercial for an M rated game on the ps3, and now thinks that the ps3 has nothing but violence on it.
showing her a game like LBP will let her know that there are games for all ages without so much violence on the ps3
You're 15 with an over bearing, over protective "professional mom"? One that was "spooked by ESRB ratings"?
I would suggest you solve that situation yourself. You are 15. If you're responsible, show that you are. If your mom thinks you're going to go on a killing spree by playing COD or something, there are only three reasons why:
Either you're a borderline nut job who can't tell the difference from reality or a video game
Your mom's an idiot (no offense)
Or she doesn't have any faith in you at all
Violence is all around you. Seen every where in your every day life. People only play "pick and choose" because it's palatable to them and their egos.
I would tell her that you are mature enough to handle any video game. Pshhh, I'm glad my parents weren't so damn strict about video games when I was younger. Assassin1349this bro i remember playing gta when i was 10 i havent killed anyone yet... jk lol as assassin said tell her that your mature enough to handle M rated games
Show her some cute pics of sackboy and tell her its just for ps3.Arctic_Grillz
this
LBP is an awesome game
I love parents that try to "protect" their children from all the bad things in the world and letting them go to the internet where you can get everything from mature Games/movies, sexual and violent content xD And even if she thinks it's to violent for you, how uninformed does one have to be to belive gthat there's only this game or only games like this on a system oO
