You may remember me from a few days ago - I posted saying I was going to get a PS3, and wanted some advice. Well, I picked it up today, I've been playing MGS4, switched it off briefly, came back later, switched it on - BAM, no display. Tried every channel, no display or sound. I'm playing it through the RGB (SCART) connection, I don't have any HDMI compatible TVs in the house. So I think it's a problem with that connection. The connector that goes into the PS3 doesn't look right - the pins look a little off. Could someone post a picture or something of theirs? Or shed some light on the matter? All I want to do is play MGS4, it was really sucking me in!

The pins are slightly bent, kinda like this /\ except at a much flatter angle, maybe 35 degrees at the most. The thing is they look regularly bent, as if they were supposed to be like that. Are they all supposed to be perfectly straight? There are also only...five pins, three in the top row and two in the bottom. Is that right?

Tried that, there's no change. Besides, it was working fine before - and I don't wanna have to jiggle it or hold it in one place whenever i wanna play it!

Try resetting your ps3 from standby(red light on)-Press and hold power button on front of console for 5 seconds untill you hear two beeps. You should then go into reset mode and just follow on screen prompts.

I just checked my new/sealed/unused sony scart type cable and it does kinda have the pins on an angle-that must be normal and besides-if your ps3 was working ok to start with, then you must have connected it up correctly.More likely you need to do a re-set as i mentioned in my other reply.Good luck.
