First up i wanna say that i absoltuely love this game. i dunno why everybody b****es bout it so bad? its sick. i've been playing Need for Speed games since the original one, and if i dig around im sure i actually still have a copy of every title, except Porsche Unleashed coz that was boring. the one main piss off i have with this game thugh, is the Race Day awards system. its stupid. at one of the later race days, i got an award for level 2 Nitrious for my RX8...something i bought like, way back when i got the car in the first place? i dont see the point in the game giving out random, useless rewards like that. .i wont ever bother getting 2 RX-8's so i dont see the point. and you cant even sell the upgrades, parts, such a waste. i even got stage 1 tyres as arewardfor one of my cars when i already hadstage 3 installed. oh well.

anyways, im having trouble doing a Wheelie? i've googled for help and dont really understand what some people offer for advice, was wondering if yous could help? i currently have a Viper RT/10 that i got for free so wouldnt mind doing that up for it. its @ 675bhp at the moment.. but i can easily afford more upgrades and/oran old school V8 if need be.

I used my 350Z as my drag car pretty much from when I got it at the beginning of the game until the end. It's the dogs bollocks. I got 7.13 seconds 1/4 mile out of it. It only has 495bhp. Buy one of those. It can be a bit unruly in the 1/2 mile as it starts swinging around towards the end of the strip, but you're so far ahead you can let off a bit to get it back under control. For the 1/2 mile it's good for 10.20 seconds. You may be able to get it faster.

As for wheelies, I managed to get it almsot the entire 1/4 mile on it's back wheels. As soon as you get into 2nd gear, hit the nitrous and it'll keep the front up. Hit it too late, the front wheels will hit the ground and lift back up again, where the first wheely will count.

There are good reasons why its not so good...

1. Weak story and presentation of story.

2. Released unfinished and with glithes.

3. Gameplay doesn't feel right some times (driving feels restricting at times and way too much when drifting).

4. The game punishes you way too hard for minor screw ups and can cost you the whole game.

5. EA has become a cheap developer and limits what you can do in a game.

Anyway.

If you want to you should delete the update (AKA patch (no one releases a update that quick for any game unless something is wrong with it) and put in "UNLOCKALLTHINGS" (in the code section) and start buying and sell the free car (Acura Integra) and buy a Toyota Supra and max that bad boy out.

Have fun.

PS: For number "5.": The update (AKA PATCH) takes away the ability to use some of the codes (that are initially usable), so you can see thats one way EA takes away from you and puts you on a chain and thats why I'm telling you to delete the update.

I think the game is fun sometimes, but this game was not mean't to be released when it was. Good job Greedy EA.

If you seriously like this game, then you're beyond help. It's just boring compared to other racing games.

lol ok...kinda helped. im not lacking any good cards though, i have an STI for drag racing that currently pulls 8.81 on the quarter (only did that once though) and 12.88 on the half mile. and i also have an RX8 for grip, nearly all stage 3, an S15 for drifting, an R34 for speed, so far only max speed is 355km/h. and now i have a Viper RT/10 that i got for free from the Super Promo and i also have an M3 that i won from a challenge. and i currently have $470,000 in the bank. oh and thanks for the cheat codes, however not necessary. i dont cheat on any games. theres no need, its not fun. especially these types of games, they need time not cheats.

im gonna use the STI for all my drag racing, but obvious that its AWD, i cant do wheelies, so was gonna grab an old V8 but i now have this Viper. its rear wheel, has the potential for a LOT of horses..dont see why i cant use it.

any technical advice please? like car tuning help? do i need more than 675bhp for this thing? and what is the correct way to launch in order for the car to rear up? i tried dropping first at full RPM and i just launched really well, no wheelie take off though.

oh and i fully respect peoples opinions of this game, most are low lol thats fine, but if possible can we please refrain from bringing this argument or any of those points up in this thread? i already stated im a big fan of this game, my reasons being my own, i thoroughly enjoy it. sure its not Gran Turismo or even Test Drive Unlimited but its an awesome driving game in my opinion, one of the best in the series, although i do agree NFS has started to lose its way.thats my assumption as to why most of you hate this game. had it not been titled in the Need for Speed franchise, im sure it would of been a huge success.

so anyway, just after some tech help here. cheers

As I said earlier - 350Z. Trust me. On regular drag races it will bring the front up. I got 770bhp from my Viper, but I never used it for drag. If the front doesn't lift up on regular drag races, it won't on wheely races.

$470,000 is more than enough to buy the 350 (30kish) and max it out. Stick fat tires on the back and a drag spoiler, wide body to help with control and bingo. Bare in mind that my 350 has a few level 4 bits, so it might not be as fast, but it'll still beat ANYTHING. I didn't lose a single drag race with my 350.

If you like I can take some photos of it's times and post them. Also, I fiddled about with the ratios and crap, so I can send those to you as well.

cheers dude. the only reason i wanna avoid the 350Z, is that im really not a fan of the car. i dont have any Level 4 bits for any car yet, havnt been lucky enough to win them. im more of a V8 fan anyway. but if you wouldnt mind, i could use a few tips on setting gear ratios.

also, does it help to make the rear wheels larger than the front? and does adding a good drag spoiler really help in getting the car up?
