Help, PS3 switching off by itself.

So I was playing GoW (from the collection), and all of a sudden the PS3 just made 3 beeping noises and then the red light started to flash. I presses the red light once and it goes into standby mode. If I try and press it again when it's in standby mode the PS3 switches on for a couple of seconds and then switches back off. Has this happened to anyone else and how do I fix it.

Also forgot to mention that the PS3 has never done this before. It still switches on, but then switches back off straight away.

I'm afraid your PS3 is dead or dying. Hopefully it's still under warranty.

Yup that would be the YLOD. Sorry buddy, Hopefully you can get it fixed through warranty or wait for the PS3/Move bundle haha.

YLOD...you have 2 choices: fix it for yourself: there are tutorials in youtube its not very hard. or send it to repair at sony, warranty covers it
