I tried to play multiplayer on Resistance just now and the network setting requires NAT type 2, but my PSVita always shows type 3. I've searched the internet for solutions, but none of them seem to be working, let along clear. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance :)

You are getting this because you don't have all of the ports open that are needed for playing online through PSN. You'll need to do a bit of editing in your router settings.

me and my friend tried to figure this out couple years ago w/ my ps3... after 8 hours of port forwarding all it took in the end was me updating the firmware on my router lol. so try that first!

Yeah, I tried doing that but I don't think that I did it right...if you don't mind, could you please tell me how? Thanks.

you should be able to type 192.168.1.1 into your browsers address bar and log into your routers settings; look for a wireless section or firmware section. basically anything that says it can be updated you should go ahead and update. if you have a linksys router here's some steps as well. but if you have a different router, just google. Thanks a lot! I tried this, but to no avail...again. Well, I'll just try to call my network distributor, cause even the PS3 is NAT type 3 now. :? Thanks again!

Yup, it's really darn annoying; even after updating the firmware and changing ports, I can't get NAT type 2 working. :x I e-mailed the guys at Sony, and they told me to contact my network distributor. Maybe you should try doing that too, cause chances are, they're the ones that block the network from giving us NAT 2. Or just go to a local wifi spot and play! I tried that, and most local spots give you NAT 2. :D

Oh boy, that's a whole lot more confusing than I thought it'd be...maybe there's a firmware update to solve this in the future? A lot of other people are also getting this problem...in the meantime, it's better to just play online with wifi somewhere else other than from our home network. Same with my router here, or maybe Sony is making it hard for things to like them.

You also got NAT 3 stuck on the Vita? I don't understand either why Resistance had to work only on type 2. But if you can at least access multiplayer, then maybe it's the game's problem. I heard that there's an update for that.

Enable UPnP (universal plug and play) on your router. That should do the trick.

Im having the exact same issues as everyone on here. My NAT TYPE has always been 2 on my ps3 but since i got my VITA & realised that was on 3 i checked my ps3 and somehow that's on 3 now too. Took me ages to get the ps3 back on 2 but cannot seem to do the same for the VITA.
