i just bought an HDTV and need to know how to make my PS3 video output more than 480i. i'd appreciate the help.

what t.v.? You probably need hdmi cables if your t.v. supports it. Thats the best quality. If it doesnt support it, you need composite cables

 First, find out which outputs your TV supports ahead of time, if you don't know. Then, from the XMB, go to Settings > Display Settings > Video Output Settings. Follow the on screen instructions, and you will be all set up.

hold down the power button for 5 -10 seconds and it will beep several times, allowing it to detect your HDMI cable automatically.

how bout you READ this book thing called the INSTRUCTIONS that came with your ps3, you could have been figured it out in the time it took t post this and wait for an answer. WTF
