hello,

I just buy a new Sony Flat HD TV 32in. its very nice clear. blu ray is great and games look great.

The tv says its 720p. the ps3 made is 1080p auto set. what would be a better pic 720p or 1080p. I just think becuase its a 720p TV thats what it should be. reall the 1080p makes the pic look smaller. but more clear.

and- the HDMI cable Looks nice and all. but the sound could be better, I would to run the sound by the normal audio jack, white and red. might be in Saround-sound or in the tv a guy at work said I can just the HDMI for video and the normal Audio jacks for sound. that would be nice would be HD Video and normal digital sound. I try to just the sound setting on the ps3 menu and I try to hook them up on the TVs out put audio under the HDMI port and I dont hear any sound and just put it back the way it was HDMI sound.

and some one please help me. thanks

Well if your TV is only 720p, then it doesnt support a 1080p input, so you dont have the option of running that. You just wont see anything. You can (most likely) choose 1080i, but its really just preference, pick which one looks best for you.

As for sound, the HDMI audio is better than the standard red/white audio cables, so dont change it. However if you want to improve it you can use an optical cable, and that will allow you to plug it into a sound system of something else. Thats the set up I use, HDMI for picture to my TV, Optical for sound to my surround sound system.

hey um, 1080p should look better and the sound should be clearer through the hdmi cable, but if you still want the sound to run through the standard cables, you can connect the hdmi cable and have it display in high definition and you can plug the red white cables into the ps3 and configure it with those

i cant help with the Video issues.

But with the sound. Just plug in your normal Composit cables right? then take your Red and White cables and plug them into ur sound system. you wont be able to do HDMI and Composite through ur Tv at the same time i think, so ull have to use an outside sound system which im sure u have. so go ahead and do that. and im guessing this is where u are stuck right? well go into your PS3 and go to settings. scroll down to audio, and there will be options as to whether you want to output sound through composite, optical or HDMI, select composite. now this should usually be sufficient, but for me i had to go into my sound system and select Auxillary to get anby sound out of it.

hope i helped :D

Well you didnt really ask a question about the video, just posted a statement. If the PS3 is displaying 1080p, and you can see it on your TV, then your TV supports a 1080p signal, which most likely means it is a 1080p TV. I havent come accross TVs that will downscale a 1080p signal into 720p.

Anywho, there is no point in complaining. If the PS3 is showing 1080p, and your TV displays it, then all is good.

Sounds like you have the same TV I do, Samsung-LN32A450. It's a great TV, It will set your setting as 1080P but the TV will only display in 720P, if you manually change the settings to 720P only you won't tell a difference or at least I can't. 32in TV's you can't really tell the difference between 1080 and 720 anyway which is why most top of the line 32in TV's are maxed at 720. Why add stuff you don't need? I can tell a difference in TV signal though. Channels that come in at 1080 look a lot better than channels at 720 but I'm pretty sure this is the TV signal and not the TV. As for audio I have an older Dolby Pro-Logic 5.1 system. I have the HDMI running into my tv and the the comonent audio running from my TV to my stereo since that is my only option. My stereo was made before Digitial Sound. I can still get 5.1 sound It's just not digital it's analog.
