What kinda error message are you getting, oh and is that idiot still arguing in the other topic lol.Soulreaver9
lol ya he is still going at it, i couldnt take it anymore!!! hahaha, as for the error msg it just keeps coming up saying "no wireless connection found" maybe i need a stronger router?
Im having similar problems at the moment it worked fine this morning but now no connection at all. Im going to try resetting my router and modem, probably redo my ps3's network connection and see if that works.Soulreaver9
Ok i'll do the same thing. Let me know if it works for you.
You trying to say when you scan for your wireless connection, an error says "No connection found?" Try few of my steps, tell me if they work. Changing the wireless channel should be a first step to take, maybe setting it to channel 1 can make a difference? What you should do is, make sure to remove anything near the PS3 which may interfere with the wireless transmission away from the unit. Make sure you are not manually entering a ip address, entering false information will make the router reject you attempt to connect. One last thing, what router brand are you using, following with the model number? This will help me, and others on here to isolate the problem. =)Kev_Dawg
ok well im using a Linksys SRX 200. it was working a couple days ago but since yesterday i cant get a connection. :(
It might be your Wireless settings that the PS3 cannot recognize. (But I'm certain PS3 should be able to recognize the signal)
(Like stated above) Change the Channel for your wireless settings. Mine is on Channel 11 (There's like 3 wireless routers in my neighborhood that my computers picked up so I had to change the channel).
Change Security settings. Supposedly WPA2-PSK is the suggested best settings.

LOL I had the exact same problem
I highly recommand you to have some sort of security, just in case of intruders you know? WPA would be your best option to protect your home network. If your router is capable on setting WPA and WPA2, then select that. Also, make sure to have AES and TKIP selected as well, just in case. WPA2 has a better wireless performance, than the WPA. WPA is mostly used for older devices that can not run on WPA2 interface. Just jotting down my 2 cents for you, hope you take my advice. I'm glad I was some help for you buddy, have a good one=).
Anymore questions, feel free to post.
I don't have any security up but thats jus due to me living in the middle of no where. The closest person to me will have to have some kinda giant range booster to get a signal off me.Soulreaver9
nice, maybe i should move out to the country and i'd be ok then. I not good with this stuff overall.

LOL yea I was worried that due to my location I wouldn't have high speed access but luckily a few providers actually serviced this area.

oh ya thats true...good thing then, otherwise....well if it was me, i'd be very very angry!
Are you sure all the setting are correct?
It doesn't recognize ANY wireless signals until the settings say wireless and not ethernet.
Otherwise, it will sit there, waiting for a cable to be plugged in.

yup i made sure it was wireless, i got it working thanks to some ppl on here. Glad to see the forums can still be helpful (ie. referring to the ridiculous 14 page political crap i got involved in haha) :)
yea and now there's 4 new accounts posting messages and agreeing with him. It's now officially getting out of hand.Soulreaver9
hahaha really? Just report to the mod about it....I have a couple times. I bet you its probably the same guy hahaha. Man it was out of hand after i made one response. I never should of said anything, me and politics sometimes :(
Well I have given up on the mods tonight so Since i'm a little bored and they don't seen to be locking that thread any time soon, I'm going there to have a little fun
Quick question because I'm like computer illiterate when it comes to this stuff. I set up my wireless network up about a year ago and haven't changed anything since. If I reset my router, would that mean I'd need to connect the router back to my pc in order to set it up again? Thanks.TheCraving
Normally when you reset the router, factory settings is applied, therefore you will have to configure it. You can use the router as is, but you will be extremely vulnerable knowing you have no security. Let me also state that the the router will not function properly, just because setting up the router is required for best performance.

No you should be fine...when i did a hard reset by unplugging it I didnt have to connect it back to my computer. If you try it and it doesnt work for you like it did me come back on and im sure someone will be around to help at some point :)
