ok, i now this has been posted before, but i cant find those posts, i recently bought a dell monitor with dvi, i know all i have to do is buy a hdmi to dvi converter right??

but i also know that dvi doesnt carry sound, so how do i do to hear my games??

thanks for any help u can provide, and again sorry for posting this again :(

by the way, i dont have a sound system with an optical input ..any othr way?? thanks :D

I have this exact same set up (except my video cable doesn't need a converter)
I run sound through the audio/video cables (you know, the yellow, white and red) with a converter to a headphone/speaker like jack on the red and white cables to my monitors built-in speakers. (it should work with computer speakers too.)

just get a converter that converts the sound from teh red and white cables into a headphone female end then plug a set of computer speakers into it best way since a moniter dont sound tooo big soo you wont need surround sound

it depends upon the monitor... on what resolution you get.
dvi will provide the best quality (along with hdmi) that can be sent to a screen
that monitor gets 1680x1050... I'm not sure what that's called.

Mine maxes out at 1600x1200 andI can get 1080p on mine through the dvi
I own the 20.1 inch Sceptre X20WG-1080P and i love it
