I am looking into buying a PSP for my best friend, I was wondering if there was anything I should know about them before I go off and buy one for her. The help would be much appreciated. Thanx :)

you need a memory card. and they're expensive-- i got mine on ebay for half the price of the stores. ebay is the best place to get one imo if 200 bucks is a stretch for you

Memory cards arent expensive anymore no matter where you go. The size would depend on if shes only going to play games or if she will also use it for music and videos. If its only for gaming even a 2G might be too big but if theres music and videos go 2G and up. Consider maybe buying her a game also....it would suck having the machine without any games....

dude, buy her the psp-3000, buy her a old but good game, get a 4gb memory stick for around 20 bucks, and maybe(not recommended, but maybe) a decent umd movie.

lol...where are you buying memory sticks? You can get a 2 gig one for 30-40 bucks if not less than that now. I mean even 3 years ago around the psp's release, I was able to get a 1 gig for 30, since then they are about 15$.

MS (around 2gigs should be enough for music), wrist strap (just in case), headphones (if she doesn't have any), a case with UMD holders, screen protecter, new PSP - 3000. Don't need all of them but yeah.

Just make sure you get her the memory stick, it would really suck without it, 2 gigs should be enough, but 4 gigs is the most rounded, it's what I have and so far and I still have loads of free space. Also, perhaps you should get a screen protector and a reliable game.

If you're willing to spend the extra cash, and you're sure she'll like it, go ahead and buy her a case too.

get the psp 2000, from what i've heard and read about, the psp 3000 has less battery and a brighterscreen.......thats it...oh and some microphone or something you'll probably never use. if you can get the 2000 cheaper then get it.
