"Series creator still won't say if he's going to be working on it."It won't be long before we know what's next for the Metal Gear franchise.
Speaking to a fan-packed audience at the Apple store in San Francisco, series creator Hideo Kojima addressed a tease about the next Metal Gear featured at the end of this Thursday's keynote.
"I can't really speak specifically right now," he told Gametrailers TV host Geoff Keighly during a moderated question and answer session this afternoon. "I can say right now is maybe we can do some announcement during E3."
Does that mean Kojima is going back on his previous statements that he's moving away from the franchise? Historically, after he completes a new Metal Gear game, Kojima has told gamers and the press he wants to leave the franchise in someone else's hands. The last few games, however, he's gone back on that promise.
"I can't say anything about that, either," he said. "I'm a little jetlagged, though, so excuse me for that. [laughs]"
In just a few months, though, we should know more.
