Hmm help me decide; COD4 for or Uncharted?

I got enough cash for a new $60 game and I'm deciding between COD4 and Uncharted. I really wanna play uncharted because I downloaded the demo and it was damn fun, and I wanna get to it. But I dont have a SINGLE game for my PS3 that I can play online yet. Well I have motorstorm, it came with the 80gig but I've never played it online.

Sooo what should I chose?

There's a few things you should know before veterans of both games share their opinon...first of all, I'm not a huge fan of FPS games. There are a few I liked, for example Halo 2 online was really really fun, and I used to play Quake games a lot...but generally, FPS's are uninteresting to me, but it looks like COD 4 could be another exception like halo. It looks really fun. Also, A LOT of my friends play online COD4, so it would be kinda cool to join them.

Third person shooters are really fun, imo. Uncharted is like the best graphics on the PS3 so far, and it was nominated for a lot of awards on several gaming sites/magazines. Honestly, atm, Uncharted intrigues me more than COD4, but the online aspect of COD, and the idea of playing online with my friends is really cool. Also, I generally suck at FPS's lol. I dont play them often, so I don't think I'm very good at them.

So if you've played both games, and you kinda get my situation, what should I get? Uncharted or COD4?

Lol I'm eventually gonna get both, but it takes a while for me to get $60 unfortunately, as I'm in highschool with no job.

But anyway, COD 4 is sounding pretty good so far..

Well they are both great games, but If I had to choose 1 right now, I'd go with CoD4 right now because it is hot right now, many players online. The single player is really only good for 1 playthrough, maybe two, but it is very very short. All the madness happens online in this game, and with Battlefield Bad company, Resistance 2, and Killzone 2 coming this year, you should get this now while its very popular because once the online dies out or you get interested in other shooters online, this game is done. With Uncharted you can always go back and play it, even 1-5+ years from now, and it will still be a great game, so if you wait a while, the game will still be playable, and it will prolly be cheaper than $60.

So due to the fact that Uncharted dont have online to damage its value over time and the fact that CoD4 is hot right now, Go with CoD 4 for now and if you wait long enough to get uncharted, it will prolly get a price drop.

you can rent uncharted because its short and has no MP. Or buy it later, because CoD4 will last you a really long time

Well said. And Uncharted is a great game "amazing single player game. And vary underrated by some sites and mags" But many I think will buy it when they see a 2nd "which we will see." Like many want to play MGS now, or DMC 1,2 or 3 now, to understand it better for 4. Uncharted seems like a game that will get its real appreciation over the time of its sequels.

I have both, and I'd have to say Uncharted. I'm not a big FPS fan either, and CoD4 hasn't changed my mind all that much. It's a great game, but the online is just filled with experts, and getting killed every 2 seconds, not that much fun.

Uncharted, however, really shows off what your PS3 is capable of, especially if you have a nice TV. Good replay value, great story, great gameplay.

For your online gaming, I would go with Warhawk, that is lot's of fun.

I think it really depends on how long it will take you to get the other game. Based on what you said, I think you would enjoy Uncharted more, but if it's going to take you more then 3 months I would actually recommend COD4.

COD4 is good in a few hour doses, but because of the online you could play this game indefinitely. I'm not good at this game either, but there are always plenty of noobs playing, so with some practice you're bound to do well enough to enjoy it.

Uncharted is the kind of game you can sit down and play all day long, but even with all the difficulty levels and achievements you'll probably have done everything possible in 3 months time (more or less). It's still fun to replay, but your mileage will vary.

Well COD4 single player is great and pretty fun and amazing but it can seriously be beaten in about 3 hours and the storyline is nothing in depth or too intriging when you acomplish anything...Online play is defifantly where that game thrives.

By a long shot Uncharted is the most under-rated game of the year it wasn't even included in gamespots awards which cracked me up it by far has the best story of any game this year...killer gameplay...and though it is short itself 8-12 hours to beat the unlockables are worth playing it over and over and over and over as well as the fun factor...i've personally beat the game 5 times and am almost done with the hardest mode which iS DAMN HARD LOL...best single player game for the PS3 bar none with a close 2nd being ratchet and clank.

so it's your preference if you like the online thing and play online a lot (i dont) ..i tend to use my PC for online gaming...but if so get COD4 if you want one of the best single player experiences get Uncharted.

For a good story, I'd say Uncharted, as much as I hated it, I have to admit the story's nice.

But for smooth online play and infinite replay value, go for COD4.

Having owned both games, my opinion would be to get COD4. Like others have said, the single-player campaign is short but it has a great story. The multi-player is where you'll spend most of your time. I like the idea that you unlock new weapons and new add-ons the more you play. This was my first FPS that I played online and it's not terribly hard to get into. Yeah, I sucked for a little while, but I'm decent now. Plus it's been confirmed that there will be additional maps coming out this spring to help keep the game fresh.

As for Uncharted, it's a fun game with great graphics and a cool story, but I beat it once and didn't really see the point in going back to it. That's just my opinion, as others like to keep playing through it until they've completed all of the achievements and found all of the treasures.

COD4. Its online is amazing, and youll find it very addicting. There is so much fun to have in this game, itll leave you on your edge. As for the single player aspect, its just as great. Its length is around 5-7 hours long, short, but amazing. The gripping story and gameplay will leave you wanting more and more as you play.

lol $60 for a new game. I can get 6 PS3 games for that much. Ah it's nice to have friends who work at Sony. :)

Uncharted= 8-10 hours (no MP) it has some nice features, so you ll probably are going to play it twice

Cod 4 5-7 hours SP. AWESOME MP i have 4 days 16 hours on the MP is good and very addictive( i still havent finishd the single camping

IMO Uncharted for sure, it's just a really awesome game, you played the demo so you know what I mean, I was in the exact same situation as you but I got Uncharted and am getting COD4 later on because as was said earlier, theres new maps coming in the spring so if you're worried about people losing interest in the game and you having noone to play with online then there's nothing to worry about!

Get Uncharted now and COD4 later dude, you won't regret it

Online is fun but if you want all the weapons be like me lv 55 beaten Pregestise mode atleast 2 or 3 times

COD4 is Fun and kicks ass

COD4 great individual plus great multiplayer!
