Home cinema for ps3?

I'm a newbie at this :) I think I'm gonna buy a 5.1 surround sound system, but how do I connect? Directly to the ps3 or TV?

well you can do it several ways?

I for instance have a Chair with speakers, two more speakers and a sub that I use for my PS3. I hook it up by having my HDMI cable used for my visual display then I go to audio settings and switch it so that my audio cords or being used for my sound... this way my sound will be not coming from my HDMI cord.

I suggest you use the same method... meaning plug your audio cords that came with the playstation into your surround sound speaker and then switch your setting so that the sound can come from there instead of out of your television.
